Lot 172. 1971-72 ABA Pittsburgh Condors Pennant, Pin, 1970-71 Schedule. Playing as the Pipers in 1967-68 and 1969-70, Pittsburgh was a charter member of the American Basketball Association. Based on a contest among Pittsburgh area residents, the owners renamed the team the Condors for the 1970-71 season. The Condor mascot is shown on the cover of a 1970-71 schedule. Ex. The team mascot and logo was redesigned for the 1971-72 season. The new logo is on a 2 ¼” pin with ribbons and basketball attached. F-g. A scarce 9” x 23” pennant also features the new logo design.
