Lot 16. Rare 1969-70 Pittsburgh Pipers 6” x 8” American Basketball Association Pennant. The Pipers were a charter member of the ABA, which debuted in 1967-68. Led by league MVP Connie Hawkins, the team captured the ABA’s first championship. After spending 1968-69 in Minnesota, the Pipers returned to Pittsburgh for the 1969-70 season. The colorful pennant is a rare memento of that season. Beautiful and nm-m except for the clip at the tip.
