1950s Bathing Beauties Set of 32 Exhibits + 15 More Pin-Up Exhibits.
Lot 196. 1950s Bathing Beauties Set of 32 Exhibits + 15 More Pin-Up Exhibits. Unidentified models wear an array of two-piece bathing suits in the set, which is printed in sepia on thin paper stock and has “Made in U.S.A.” in the lower right corner. The thin-paper set apparently was produced for promotional purposes. Nm. The other cards, printed on regular exhibit stock, are from at least four different sets. Six cards apparently from the 1940s are more risqué than the others. Printed in shades of violet and purple, they feature unidentified models in sexy poses that reveal no more than a typical day at the beach today. Ex. Seven 1950s cards are sepia and have the model’s name in fancy type at the bottom, including Sheree North, Gloria Gordon and Barbara Bates (“All About Eve”). Ex. A duotone card from the 1940s shows Sylvia Lewis (g-vg with a pin hole), and a b&w card has an unidentified model (ex). 47 cards.
Winning Bid $75.
