Lot 698.  UPDATED DESCRIPTION: Original Vintage Theodore Roosevelt Political Pin. This colorful pin, about 1 ¼” in diameter, features a black and white photographic portrait of President Roosevelt encircled in a gold wreath with an eagle perched above. Ships at sea can be noted in the background. The pin displays very nicely. The paper backing remains intact. Produced by Whitehead & Hoag Co. of Newark N.J with two different 1896 patent dates. This marvelous period political pin HAS STAINS ON THE FRONT IN THE WHITE CIRCLE AROUND ROOSEVELT AND ALONG THE RIM, ESPECIALLY ABOVE THE EAGLE.

Lot 699.  1732-1932 George Washington Bicentennial Anniversary Pin. This very rare pin issued more than 70 years ago commemorates the 200th anniversary of George Washington’s birth. A classic color portrait of our nation’s first president graces the center of the pin. The pin has some rust on the reverse. The front, which features an exceptional design, is ex-m with vibrant color.

Lot 700.  2 Books About Harry Truman, 6 Time Issues with Covers Related to the Presidency. The books are: Mr. President by William Hillman, 1952 first edition hardback, vg book, f dj. Hillman draws upon and presents Truman’s personal papers. HST: A Pictorial Biography, from UPI, 1973 stated first printing, paperback, ex-m. The Time magazines are from Nov. 29, 1963, President Johnson cover; Dec. 6, 1963, Dean Rusk; Aug. 19, 1974, President Ford; Nov. 15, 1976, President Carter; and 1976, special Bicentennial issues, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson. All are vg with labels partially removed.

Lot 701.  Deck of Cards from Air Force One + President John F. Kennedy Publications. The deck of playing cards from Air Force One is unopened, nm-m. Nice addition to a Presidential collection. Three publications are issues of Life: 11/29/63, JFK cover, vg with label removed. 12/6/63, Jackie, Caroline, John Jr. cover, vg-ex, no-label copy. 1999, JFK Jr and wife cover, no label, nm-m. Jackie Kennedy is on the cover of the 12/22/63 Philadelphia Inquirer, g-vg. Also, Four Dark Days in History:, A Photo History of President Kennedy’s Assassination, Jim Matthews, 1963 apparent first edition, magazine format, ex-m.

Lot 702.  “The Flow of Wilderness” Poster Signed by Abstract Artist Syd Solomon. This “Galapagos Series” poster, framed to about 24” x 35”, may be a tie-in to the Sierra Club books with a similar title. In any case, Solomon was a nationally respected artist who lived in Sarasota, Fla., and in the Hamptons. His works are in the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Corcoran Gallery in Washington, D.C., and the Tel Aviv Museum in Israel. The Pittsburgh-area native died in 2004. Solomon’s personalized signature is a large, bold 10 on the nm-m poster, #73 of 200. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Each box features attractive graphics.

Lot 704.  Original Hanna-Barbera Jonny Quest Production Cel. The cel shows a floating chest-up figure of Race Bannon, one of the main characters in the 1960s TV show. Four decades later, the show still has a huge following, primarily because of the great stories. The hand-inked cel measures 10 3/4” x 7 3/4” and is framed with a triple matte to 17 1/4” x 14 1/4.” Original production cels are truly one-of-a-kind pieces of art. Gallery in Motion issued a COA for this cel in 1995.

Lot 705.  Beetle Bailey Vol. 1 #1 1970 PROMOTIONAL comic distributed for the Cerebral Palsy Association. The comics range from Nm, to G with approximately 75 creased copies. 300 sterling copies over 35 years old of a comic that books for over $15 and sells on eBay for $1-$5 offers nice profits for the eBay entrepreneur or comic dealer.
