Lot 632. Five Books, Including the Seymour Trilogy, of Baseball History. The three volumes by the Cornell University Ph.D. and history professor remain the definitive scholarly history of baseball. The first volume, “Baseball: The Early Years,” appeared in 1960, and “Baseball: The Golden Age” followed in 1971. No dj as issued, ex. Seymour published “Baseball: The People’s Game” in 1990. Nm book and dj. All three appear to be first editions. Baseball history in one volume is offered by Lee Allen in “100 Years of Baseball,” 1950, first edition, owner’s name inside, vg-ex book, no dj. Minor league baseball history is captured in “Bush League” by Robert Obojski, 1975 stated first printing, owner’s name inside, ex book and dj.
