Lot 627. 1910 First Edition Hardback of “Touching Second” by John J. Evers of Evers to Tinker to Chance fame. This book by “The Crab” with Hugh S. Fullerton contains anecdotes plus instructions on how to play the game. It is without a dust jacket as issued. The cover has a litho pastedown picturing Evers fielding a ball. A stain is evident the length of the spine, and the exterior has a g-vg appearance. The interior is clean and ex+ with all 16 plates in place, showing such stars as Wagner, Mathewson, Cobb and Lajoie.
