Michael Ramsey, Archbishop of Canterbury, Aug. 16, 1963 issue, 9 of 10 signature. He signed “Michael Canterbury.” Archbishop from 1961-74, he was active in the ecumenical movement. He died in 1988. 2. Gerald Kennedy, May 8, 1964, personalized 9. Elected a Methodist bishop in 1948 at the age of 40, then the youngest bishop in church history, he became president of the Methodist’s Council of Bishops in 1960. He wrote a substantial number of religious books. 3. Richard Cardinal Cushing, Aug. 21, 1964, 10 of 10 signature. He was Archbishop of Boston and a close friend of President John F. Kennedy. He died in 1970. 4. James Pike, Nov. 11, 1966, mint 9. Charismatic and controversial American Episcopal Bishop who supported the Civil Rights movement. He died in 1969.
