Lot 133. UPDATED DESCRIPTION: Autographs of 18 Members of the 1947-48 Montreal Canadiens – 8 in the HoF. The autographs, all in fountain pen, are on six irregular sections of paper glued into a Montreal Forum Sports Magazine that was turned into a scrapbook in 1948 and 1949. The various sections hold the following signatures: 1. Maurice Richard (died 2000), Billy Reay, Roger Leger. 2. Rip Riopelle and another signature. 3. Pete Babando (didn’t play for Montreal), Murph Chamberlain, Jim Peters and Bill Chadwick (Hall of Fame referee). 4. Normand Dussault, Elmer Lach. 5. Hal Laycoe, Doug Harvey (d. 1989), Bill Durnan (d. 1972), Joe Carveth, Butch Bouchard, Dick Irvin (Canadiens’ coach, d. 1957), Tod Campeau. 6. Ken Mosdell, Gerry Plamodon, Glen Harmon, Kenny Reardon. The autographs range from vg-ex 4 to mint 9. All stand out boldly against the paper; “bleeding” is the primary condition that drops the grades. Check out the photos, or feel free to call for details.
