Lot 115. Game-Used 1970 Philadelphia Eagles Helmet Autographed by Chuck Bednarik. The last of the great two-way football players, Bednarik signed the top of this Riddell helmet in black sharpie. The autograph is a mint 9. Bednarik added “HOF 1967” below his name. He was a two-time All-America at the University of Pennsylvania. In 14 pro seasons, he missed only three games and, in some seasons, averaged 58 minutes per game. He was an All-Pro seven times and played in eight Pro Bowls. The helmet, which has a face guard and shows good game use, was worn by Steve Preece, a defensive back out of Oregon State who played for the Eagles 1970-72. His name and “1970” are inside the helmet. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
