Premium Baseball Autographs



Lot 1.  Baseball with an Outstanding Babe Ruth Autograph Authenticated by PSA/DNA and Kevin Keating. The autograph on a side panel of a Schultz American League baseball is as bold as can be. It is a solid 10. Ruth personalized the ball “To Ted Haase” and offered him “Best Wishes From Babe Ruth.” The Sultan of Swat added the date, “July 1st, 1930” on the sweet spot. The stampings on the ball, which has been shellacked, remain strong. On an area opposite the autographs, a hole was drilled to support display of the ball. The autographs can easily be displayed without the hole being seen. The ball comes with a Letter of Authenticity from PSA-DNA signed by Jim Spence. Beautiful fountain pen signature. Lot 3.  1948 Chesterfield Ad Signed by Ted Williams, Joe DiMaggio and Stan Musial . This brilliantly colorful ad has been professionally matted and framed creating a 16” x 19” display. The ad itself measures about 10” x 12” and is gorgeous. The signatures of Williams, DiMaggio and Musial are all 10s. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 4.  UPDATED DESCRIPTION: OAL Reach Baseball Signed by Gehrig, 18 Other 1932 New York Yankees. This team was one of the best ever. The Lou Gehrig signature on a side panel is a large 6 of 10. Eddie Bennett, the team’s adult bat boy, signed above Gehrig, and Ben Chapman placed his signature below. Vernon Gomez (Lefty) is also on the panel. Other signers include John Allen, Joe McCarthy, Tony Lazzeri, Dusty Cooke, Phil Weinert, Myril Hoag, Earl Combs, Eddie Phillips, Red Ruffing and Lyn Lary. These signatures range from 1 to 6 and average 4. The “Babe Ruth” signature on the sweet spot is clubhouse. The ball is ex with “‘Buck’ Owens” written over the “Official American League Ball” pre-printed area. OWENS WAS AN UMPIRE. Excellent collector example representing the team that won 108 games in the regular season and then swept the Chicago Cubs in the World Series. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 5.  UPDATED DESCRIPTION: Spalding “Hall of Fame” Baseball Signed by 22 Including Paige, Grove, Marquard. All of the signatures on this nm ball from Spalding are bold, grading mint 9 or gem mint 10. Wm H. (Bill) Terry, Joe Mediwck and Edd Roush signed on the sweet spot. The autograph of Satchel Paige is at the top of one side panel, followed by Monte Irvin, Larry Gardner, Jesse Haines, Earle Combs and Red Ruffing. The signature of Rube Marquard is on a side panel with the autographs of Frank Frisch and Whitey Witt. The ball is signed also by Chub Feeney, Lefty Grove, Joe Cronin, Bowie Kuhn, Ford Frick, Harry Hooper, Casey Stengel, Stanley Coveleski, Zack Wheat and Chick Hafey. The ball was signed abut 1972, when Gardner was a guest at the Hall of Fame induction ceremonies. Fabulous for display. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 6.  Unique Hand-Painted “Zetnam” Baseball Signed by Mickey Mantle. This finely detailed work of art features the signature of Mantle on the sweet spot. Around the signature, Zetnam (Robert Mantez) added “No. 7,” the Yankees’ bat and hat logo, the “NY” letters set against pinstripes, the number “7” on pinstripes and the following text: “536 Home Runs .298 batting Ave. 1974 HOF 1951-68.” “Zetnam” added his name and the year of the work, “1998.” Mantle’s autograph is a mint 9, and the combination of autograph and artwork is magnificent. Lot 7.  Autographed 8” x 12” Ted Williams Color Photo. The nm-m photo features Williams, two bats in hand, walking to the plate in an old-timers game at Boston. The large bold autograph in blue sharpie is a 10. Letter of Authenticity from Global Authentication, Inc.

Lot 8.  UPDATED DESCRIPTION: ONL Feeney Ball Signed by Clemente, Maz, 27 Other 1970 Pittsburgh Pirates. The signatures of Bruce Del Canton and Jim Nelson date this ball at 1970. Signatures range from vg 3 to nm 7, with most grading vg-ex 4 or better. Happily, the signature of Roberto Clemente is strong, grading 7 of 10. The signature of the late Bob Moose is equally strong. The Bill Mazeroski signature is a 6-7, and the Willie Stargell, a 4. Interestingly, Hebner signed “Richie Joseph Hebner.” Other signers include Dock Ellis, Steve Blass, Bob Robertson, Jose Pagan, M. Sanguillen, Don Leppert, Luke Walker, Gene Alley, Bill Virdon, Dave Giusti, Dave Cash, Al Oliver, Fred Patek, John Jeter, Bob Veale and Frank Oceak. Lot 9.  George Sisler Signature on 1935 Letterhead for the American Soft Ball Association. Sisler was president of the association. In the typed letter, he responds to a letter from a potential tournament participant. With the letter is an entry form for the 1935 tournament and a brief newsletter on the event. Sisler’s fountain pen autograph at the end of the letter is a mint 9. The Hall of Fame first baseman died in 1973. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 10.  Mickey Mantle Autographed Photo. Mantle’s signature is a sharpie 10 on an 8” x 10” color photo mounted on an ex 12” x 15” wood plaque. A plate on the plaque reads “Mickey Mantle #7 The Mick Hall of Fame 1974.” Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 11.  Autographed Mickey Mantle Display. Mantle has boldly autographed in blue sharpie an 8” x 10” color photo that pictures him kneeling and leaning on a bat. The autograph is a 10. The photo has been professionally matted and framed with a 1963 Topps Yankees team card and another that shows Mantle swinging a bat. The overall dimensions of the display are 13” x 19 ½”. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
