Lot 667. 15 Periodicals Focusing on Churchill. Sir Winston Churchill was one of the most important leaders of the 20th century. Because of his leadership, Britain successfully resisted the German onslaught in World War II. In 2002, he was named the Greatest-ever Briton in a BBC poll. Erudite as well as politically astute, he won the 1953 Nobel Prize in literature for his books on world history and the English language. He died in 1965.
