1967 Marx “Parade of Presidents” Figures, 1963 Presidential Portraits.
Lot 652. 1967 Marx “Parade of Presidents” Figures, 1963 Presidential Portraits. In 1967, Marx produced a group of 2 ¾” plastic figures that portray the first 36 Presidents, George Washington through Richard Nixon. The representations, especially the faces, are relatively realistic, although Dwight Eisenhower suffers from really bad hair, William Howard Taft looks as if he shouldn’t have a bathtub problem and James Madison stands as tall as Abraham Lincoln. The figures stand on a Styrofoam dais with columns. Ex-m+ figures accompanied by an “American Presidents Album” that came with the set. Except for Nixon, these same Presidents are pictured individually in 8 ¾” x 12” black & white prints from Book Enterprises. Most of the prints are based on original steel engravings. Ex-m. The prints come in their original envelope with a “Presidential Fact-Finder Wheel” and a coy of the Declaration of Independence.
Winning Bid $83.
