Lot 651. 1965 “Joy Boys” Promo Portfolio Featuring Willard Scott of the “Today Show.” From the mid-1960s to the early 1970s, Scott and Ed Walker were fixtures of the evening air waves on Washington, D.C.’s WRC Radio. Combining music and comedy, they entertained listeners with such characters as the Loan Arranger, Buck Tooth, the big-game hunter, and Rick Shaw, the show’s Far East correspondent. Scott also played a clown and presented the weather on WRC-TV. He subsequently became the weatherman on the “Today Show.” The portfolio consists of line drawings of the entertainers. Scott, less portly than in his “Today Show” years, and Walker are on the cover. Inside are 11 drawings. Vg+ to ex cover; inside drawings are ex to ex-m.
