Lot 648. 41 Vintage Soda Bottles, Most Associated with Washington, D.C. Most are from the 1940s. Coca-Cola is the source of seven six-ounce bottles, most with a D.C. connection. Four say “Washington, D.C.” on the bottom; one says “Alexandria, Va.” Also, a 6 ½” oz. elongated bottle from Alabama, and a 1993 Marlins first season bottle. Coke also provided three 6 oz. bottles for “Soda Water” from D.C., Alexandria (dated 1945) and Silver Spring. D.C. area bottlers are Seven-Up Washington, S.C. Palmer (Palmer Brand, 2 bottles), Chirp Co. of Mt. Airy, Md. (Maryland Club), Tru-Ade Bottling, Samuel Farber, Rock Creek Ginger Ale (2), Sas-O Bottling, Squirt Beverage Co. of D.C. (Capitol Beverages), A. C. Herrmann (3) and Lyon Beverage Works. Also, two beer bottles from the Robert Porter Brewing Co. of Alexandria, a Dr. Pepper bottle from Omaha and two imports. These bottles are a mix of vg, ex and ex-m.
