Lot 647. 12 1930s-40s Milk Bottles from Washington, D.C., Area Dairies. Thompson’s Dairy of D.C. wins the award for the quart bottle with the most unusual shape, and chips in with the pint bottle as well. A Chevy Chase (Md.) Dairy quart bottle features an image of a mother feeding a baby, and another carries the Sealtest name. The Wakefield Dairy of D.C. provides an image of George Washington. Other bottles: Chestnut Farms Chevy Chase Dairy – half pint, one pint, a painted quart (fair, paint loss) and an unpainted quart. Embassy Dairy of DC - quart. Embassy-Fairfax Dairy – two half pints. The 11 unpainted bottles average ex+.
