Lot 523. Early 1940s Miniature Boxing Gloves Featuring Gus Lesnevich, Kid Chocolate. These plastic gloves, which have a silver finish, are larger than the “name” gloves that typically came out of gum machines. Each is about 1 ¼” x 5/8”, and each has a ring so that it could be used as a charm. The boxers’ names are on the back of the gloves, which remain in an unopened package from Holly House of California. Nm gloves. Lesnevich held the World Light-heavyweight title from 1941-48. Chocolate became Cuba’s first world champion in 1931 by capturing the junior lightweight crown. He retired in 1938. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
