A Pair of 1955 World Series Passes.
Lot 285. A Pair of 1955 World Series Passes. The 1955 World Series between the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Yankees is legendary. It is the only World Series the Dodgers ever won. It went the full seven games. The first pass reads, “1955 Yankees Clubhouse, Baseball Writers Ass’n, 1955 World Series No. 135 (Not Good For Admission To Stadium).” The Yankees logo and No. 135 appear on it in red ink. The pass itself is green made of light cardboard. Other text appears in blue ink. Although the pass retains nice eye appeal, there are multiple creases. The second pass reads, “1955 World Series, Ebbetts Field-Brooklyn, N.Y. Reporter, The Dodgers, Ebbetts Field. This Badge Must Be Worn At All Times. Game 3-4-5-X (Enter at Press Gate).” “Reporter” and the number “79” appear in red ink. The pass retains nice eye appeal with only one rather light inoffensive crease.
Winning Bid $185.
