Six Hall of Fame members signed the ball – Tony Gwynn, Tommy Lasorda, Mike Schmidt, Ryne Sandberg, Ozzie Smith and Bruce Sutter. Manager Paul Owens is on the sweet spot. The nm-m ball is signed also by Andujar, Buford, Chili Davis, Jody Davis, Gooden, Holland, Lea, Marshall, Orosco, Ramierz, Soto, Murphy, Samuel, Strawberry, Tanner, Valenzuela and Wallach. Charlie Lea was the winning pitcher in the N.L.’s 3-1 victory. Pitching dominated this game, and Fernando Valenzuela, Dwight Gooden and Bill Caudill all struck out the entire A.L. side.
