Lot 172.  17 1964-67 Beehive Group III Photos. 16 different. These 5 3/8” x 8” black and white photos are surrounded by a stylized wood-grain border. Ten cards are ex and better, and seven are less than ex. The Phil Esposito card, which has one blade fully showing and the other partially showing, is ex. The other cards are of Crozier, Douglas, Ellis (2), Maki, Pit Martin, Marshall, Mohns, Murphy, Oliver, Pappin, Pilote, Floyd Smith, Stanley, Van Impe and Wharram.

Lot 173.  1963-64 Toronto Star Hockey Complete Set of 42. This colorful, beautiful set consists of 4 ¾” x 6 ¾” photos. More than half of the set is ex-m and better. The balance of the cards, less than ex-m, are beautiful and very presentable. The Gordie Howe card is ex+. Terry Sawchuk, Glenn Hall and Bobby Hull are among the other stars in the set. Seldom seen, seldom offered and very desirable.

Lot 174.  1965-66 Coca-Cola Hockey Set of 108 Cards in 6 Panels of 18 Cards Each. The end cards of each panel have paper or glue residue or paper loss on the back. In some cases, the fronts of these cards are creased. Cards affected are Cheevers, Awrey, Edwin, Westfall and Parent for Boston, Hall and Dryden for Chicago, Crozier and Bassen for Detroit, Hodge, Lapierre and Worsley for Montreal, Giacomin, Simmons and Robert for New York and Bower and Sawchuk for Toronto. The effect on the Sawchuk card is minor. These cards aside, the panels grade: Boston ex, Chicago nm, Detroit ex+, Montreal (pencil writing on the back has been erased) ex, New York ex-m+ and Toronto ex-m+. Uncommon Set.

Four cards are nm-m including #91 Dionne, 170 Potvin. 21 nm+ including #67 Trottier RB, 151 Robinson, 163 Lafleur, 225 Makita. 22 nm including #245 Esposito, 200 Dryden. 30 ex-m+. 39 ex-m including #115 Trottier rookie. 24 ex+, 26 ex, 9 vg-ex, 6 vg, 1 g-vg. In general, the key cards are present except for #213 Orr.

Lot 177.  8” x 11” Newspaper Photo Autographed by Hall of Fame Defenseman Doug Harvey. A rookie in 1947-48 with Montreal, Harvey was considered one of the National Hockey League’s top defensemen by the 1950-51 season. He won the Norris Trophy as the game’s best defenseman seven times. An 11-time All-Star, he was among the first to demonstrate that defensemen could be effective scorers and contribute significantly to the offensive game. He was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1973. He died in 1989. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 178.  Signed Copy of Gordie Howe’s Autobiography and...HOWE! Published in 1995, the book is nm-m with an ex dust jacket. Howe and his wife Colleen, who wrote the book with Tom DeLisle, signed the first title page in red felt-tip pen. Their signatures are 10s. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 179.  Autographs of 9 Hockey Hall of Fame Members, 12 Others. The signatures are on the first title page of Frank Selke’s 1962 book, Behind the Cheering. The book is ex with the owner’s name inside in a vg dust jacket. Selke is in the Hall of Fame for turning the Montreal Canadiens, financially troubled in the 1940s, into a hockey powerhouse in the 1950s. Besides Selke, who died in 1985, Hall of Fame signers are Jean Beliveau, Tom Johnson, Pierre Pilote, Henri Richard, Dickie Moore, Hector Toe Blake (dec.), Kenny Reardon and Boom Boom Geoffrion (dec.). The page is signed also by Phil Goyette, Robert Rosseau, Ralph Backstrom, Bill Hicke (dec.), Jean Gauthier, Gilles Tremblay, Don Marshall, Cesare Maniago, J. C. Tremblay, Jean-Guy Talbot and Lou Fortinato. Selke’s signature is alone at the top of the page. The signatures are in ballpoint and grade 10 of 10. The autographs of Selke and Blake are comparatively scarce. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 180.  Hockey Mini-Helmet Signed by Bobby Orr. The black Bauer helmet is boldly signed by Orr in silver sharpie. The signature is a 10 on an nm-m helmet. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
