Lot 91. 2 Rare WWII Military Baseball Programs with DiMaggio, Other Major Leaguers. World War II interrupted the careers of major league players; many then represented service teams. Besides DiMaggio, the Air Force squad included Bob Dillinger, Walter Judnich, Ferris Fain, Charlie Silvera, Red Ruffing and Joe Gordon. The Maui team consisted of minor league and college players. The second program, consisting of four pages, is for Hawaii games between the Army All-Stars and the Navy All-Stars. The Army team was made up primarily of 7th Air Force players. Bill Dickey managed the Navy team, and his players included Pee Wee Reese, Phil Rizzuto, Johnny Mize, Dom DiMaggio, Schoolboy Rowe, Virgil Trucks and Hugh Casey. The Army-Navy program is glued inside the back page of the Air Force-Maui program. Otherwise, the programs are vg, and rare.
