Lot 92. 1965-66 Coca-Cola Hockey Set of 108 Cards in 6 Panels of 18 Cards Each. The end cards of each panel have paper or glue residue or paper loss on the back. In some cases, the fronts of these cards are creased. Cards affected are Cheevers, Awrey, Edwin, Westfall and Parent for Boston, Hall and Dryden for Chicago, Crozier and Bassen for Detroit, Hodge, Lapierre and Worsley for Montreal, Giacomin, Simmons and Robert for New York and Bower and Sawchuk for Toronto. The effect on the Sawchuk card is minor. These cards aside, the panels grade: Boston ex, Chicago nm, Detroit ex+, Montreal (pencil writing on the back has been erased) ex, New York ex-m+ and Toronto ex-m+. Uncommon set.

Lot 93. 1959 Sport Magazine Autographed by Hall of Fame Superstar Maurice Richard. Gorgeous, bold 10 of 10 sharpie signature that could not be improved. Below the autograph, Richard wrote the number “9” inside a circle. The legendary “Rocket” appears in an action pose on the cover of the January issue wearing his Canadiens uniform. Inside is an article by the 37-year-old veteran titled “They’ll have to force me to retire.” Richard died in 2000. In its Dec. 22 issue, SI honored the U.S. players and coach who upset the world in the 1980 Olympics hockey competition. Signed by all 19 players - Mike Eruzione, Jim Craig, Mark Wells, Bob Suter, Mark Johnson, Phil Verchota, Eric Strobel, Buzz Schneider, Steve Christoff, Neal Broten, Ken Morrow, etc. Vg+ to ex issue. Lot 380. Signature of Bobby Carpenter, “The Can’t-Miss Kid,” on Feb. 23, 1981 SI Cover. Carpenter was the first player to go directly from a U.S. high school to the NHL. As a rookie, he scored 32 goals. In his fourth season, he scored 53 goals, the most ever by a player born in the U.S. His career spanned 1981-99.
