In 1974 and 1975, Washington finished in the top 5 among Heisman Trophy candidates, losing twice to Ohio State’s Archie Griffin. But it was the Sooners that finished both seasons atop the AP poll. And it was Washington’s brilliant running that was the key to their success. He still holds the Oklahoma record for career all-purpose yards. After Oklahoma, he played in the NFL for San Diego, Baltimore and Washington. In four of his nine NFL seasons, he gained more than 1,000 yards passing and receiving. In 1979, he led the league in receptions. He was elected to the College HoF in 2005. His signature is a 10 on a nm-m ball. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
