Ticket Stub for the 1943 All-Star Game at Shibe Park, Vintage Athletics’ Pin.
Lot 185. Ticket Stub for the 1943 All-Star Game at Shibe Park, Vintage Athletics’ Pin. Paper may have been in short supply in World War II, but Major League Baseball nevertheless printed a large ticket for the 1943 All-Star game at Philadelphia’s Shibe Park. The 2 ¾” x 5” stub with rain check carries two facsimile signatures of Connie Mack. The ticket shows creases, some chips along the bottom edge and stains on the back. Still, it displays very well. With the ticket is a vintage 1 ¼” pin that features “Philadelphia Athletics” in white and the team’s elephant mascot on a blue background. Attached to the pin are purple and white ribbons and a vintage baseball charm. Some wrinkles in the ribbon; ex pin and ball.
Winning Bid $125.
