Lot 538. 1960, 1971 Pittsburgh Pirates Championship Season Letterhead. Each piece of stationery has a letter from Bill Turner, an executive who dealt with the Pirates’ farm system. The first letter, dated March 8, 1960 from Forbes Field, transmits a check for $10 for player transactions to the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues, which oversaw minor league baseball. The letterhead has a unique mascot logo. The stub for the check is included. The second letter, dated July 20, 1971 from Three Rivers Stadium, deals with a coaching contract for former player Dick Cole. Chuck Cottier is mentioned.
