Lot 237. 1951 Pirates ONL Frick Baseball Signed by 21 - Garagiola, Kiner, Etc. Ralph Kiner’s signature is on the sweet spot of this game-used ball, and Joe Garagiola is on a side panel. Other signers include George Strickland, Mel Queen (twice), Tom Saffell, Ted Wilkes, Frank Thomas (rookie), Jack Phillips, Howard Pollet, George Metkovich and Paul LaPalme. On one panel, a stain obscures some autographs. Otherwise, the ball shows even coloration; stampings are completely present. The Kiner autograph is a 7 of 10. Nine autographs, including Garagiola’s, grade 6-7. The others are lighter. Garagiola was in his first season with the Pirates.
