Lot 478.  Philadelphia Phillies Card Collection. 1. 27 different 1949 Philadelphia Bulletin cards. The Bulletin issued these “cards” in the rotogravure section. In effect, the fronts and backs were printed side by side. Our consignor neatly cut the two sections apart and very neatly pasted them onto a backing. As presented, they are nm. Among the cards are Ennis, Konstanty, Rowe, Roberts and Simmons. The SCD Standard Catalog values the set of 59, which includes Athletics players, at $1,600 for uncut “cards.” Scarce in any form. 2. 1950 Philadelphia Bulletin Pin-Ups, Miller, g-vg. 3. 1947-66 Exhibits of Ashburn, first name incorrect, pin hole, otherwise ex. Ennis vg-ex. Roberts, back damage, ex-m front. 4. 1954 Dixie Lid Ashburn, no tab, f. 5. 1958-60 Phillies Team Issue: Ashburn, Jones, Roberts, Sawyer, Simmons. All have pin holes; otherwise, Roberts g+ to vg, the others ex. 6. 1963 Stat Back Exhibits: Callison ex+, Mahaffey vg+ to ex. 7. 1971 Arco partial subset of 9, missing Bunning, Hoerner, Money, Short. All appear to have had the date written lightly in pencil in the upper right corner on the back and then erased. Very light impressions remain on some. The fronts: 2 vg-ex, 1 ex, 1 ex-m, 5 nm. 8. 1973 Team Issue: Boone, Bowa, Luzinski, Montanez, Twitchell, Unser, nm. 9. 1975 TCMA Phillies Whiz Kids” set of 32, nm. 10. 1978 “Baseball the Phillies Way” with 1978 SSPC card inserts, 3 copies, 2 unopened in the original envelopes, nm-m. Two issues are ex, and two, vg. The inserts are nm-m. 11. 1983 Great Moments postcards set of 13, nm-m. 12. 1983 Great Players and Managers postcards set of 14, nm-m. Bonus #1: 1948 “Fighting’ Phillies” 9” x 11 ½” color team photo, vg (creases outside the players’ images), in the original envelope. Bonus #2: 1941 matchbook with the Phillies’ home schedule. Striker present, no matches, ex. More than 100 individual items.

Lot 889.  1950s Philadelphia Phillies Connie Mack Stadium Vendor’s Badge. The 1 ½” x 2” badge silver-colored badge says “Phillies 409.” Ex-m. Unusual Phillies item.

Lot 890.  1931 Phillies, Athletics Schedule from the Philadelphia Record. Three-panel schedule is 2 ¾” x 5 ½”, opening to 8” x 5 ½”. There are several small holes in the back panel of the schedule. Otherwise, colorful and ex+.

Lot 891.  Phillies Autographs - Robin Roberts, Eddie Sawyer, Dolph Camilli, Larry Bowa. Roberts signed a blank-backed postcard issued in connection’ with a sports card show. Personalized. Camilli autographed the back of ticket for a 1973 golf tournament. Sawyer signed two items, a postcard-sized photo and a program for a 1976 Philadelphia area card show. Bowa’s signature is on a 6” x 9” Phillies photo inside a program for a “father and son communion breakfast.” The signatures are 10. Sawyer and Camilli both died in 1997.

Lot 892.  1964 Philadelphia World Series Full Phantom Ticket. The 1964 team came close - but not even a Phillies blunt. Holding a decent lead atop the N.L. going into the last two weeks of the season, the Phils launched a 10-game losing streak and finished a game behind St. Louis. The complete ticket for Game 1 at Connie Mack Stadium is nm.

Lot 893.  11 Philadelphia Phillies Pennants Including a 1950 N.L. Championship Pennant. All of these pennants are full-sized.  The white on red 1950 pennant shows a generic Phillies player sliding into home.  Beneath him are the words “Fightin’ Phillies” and a bat.  The other text says “National League Champions Phillies 1950.”  Some light creases toward the bottom; ex-m appearance.  2-3. 2 1964 “Go-Go Phillies National League Champions Phillies,” one white on red, two small stains, otherwise ex-m; and one red on white, vg.  4-5. 1976 and 1977 “N.L. Eastern Division Champions” scroll pennants, both vg+ to ex.  6. 1980 “National League Champs” autograph pennant, red on white, heavy stains at the far left, otherwise ex.  7. “1980 World Champs,” red on white, g-vg.  8. 1980 pennant, vg.  9-10. 2 pennants with a Philadelphia hat and “Phillies,” red on white, one with the Major League Baseball logo, one without.  Both ex, one with moderate soiling and one with very light soiling.  11. 1969 Hat and “Phillies” pennant with the orbiting baseball, vg+ to ex.
