Lot 44. 1886 International Association Scorecared with Kimball’s, Moxie Soda Adverising. Titled “Good Form,” this scorecard for a game between theUtica Pentups vs. Rochester Maroons has a vintage, realistic batter on the front surrounded by advertising. An ad on the cover promotes Moxie, which was introduced in 1884. This is one of the first ads linking the soda to sports. Insideis a small ad for the Wm. S. Kimball & Co. “Kimball Straight Cut Cigarettes.” Of course, Kimball was headquartered in Rochester, and the company issued sports and non-sport cards in the 1880s. The roster portion of the two-panel scorecard, which opens to 6 3/4” x 8 1/4”, is neatly scored in pencil. Light stains; free of significant creases.
