The first three cards are single prints, and the Williamson is a rookie. Pro teams represented by the stickers are the Browns and Colts. The college teams are Michigan, Notre Dame and UCLA.

Lot 291.  23 1960s Coca-Cola Caps Featuring Washington Redskins. With one possible exception, these caps are from Coke’s 1965 issue. Nineteen are from the Coke Redskins subset: C3 Sanders, C5 Nisby, C10 Carpenter, C12 Atkins, C13 Barnett, C16 Reger, C17 Seals, 21 Paluck, C22 O’Brien, C24 Breedlove, C25 Pellegrini, C26 Jencks, C29 Toneff, C30 Taylor (Pro HoF), C31 Shiner, C33 Coia, C34 Snidow, C35 Krause and C36 Redskins logo, the last cap in the team issue of 36. In addition, C37 Jurgensen (HoF) is from the NFL All-Stars subset, and C40 Promuto and C43 Paluck are Redskins from the 1965 Coke Caps National NFL set. Rick Casares, C23, is the subject of the remaining cap. Casares played for the Redskins only in 1965; the cap is not on any Coke checklist we have. These caps show standard signs of removal from a bottle; vg to vg-ex overall.

Lot 294.  1972 Football Quiz Set and 49 Fleer Cloth Patches – 47 from 1972-73 and 2 from 1974-75. The Quiz set averages vg-ex to ex and is complete with 28 cards. Each 2 3/8” x 4” card contains three football questions and answers. Fleer sold packs with one Quiz card and one 2.5” x 3.25” cloth patch. The patches were also sold separately, three to a pack. Each sticker has a small sticker with a team’s name at the top and a larger sticker with a helmet or logo representing a different team at the bottom. The 1972-73 set apparently contains 60 cloth patches; 47 are offered here. Their condition is generally vg-ex to ex. Lot 296.  1981 Topps Football Joe Montana and Art Monk Rookie Cards. On “The Sporting News” list of Football’s Greatest Players published in 1999, Montana ranked third, behind only Jim Brown and Jerry Rice, and Monk was 91st. Montana was inducted into the Pro Hall of Fame in 2008, and Monk, in 2008. Monk is also in the College Hall of Fame. Montana’s rookie Topps card, #216, is nm to nm-m, centered approximately 43:57 left-to-right and 50:50 top-to-bottom. Monk’s rookie, #194, grades nm. It is centered approximately 50:50 left-to-right and 62:38 top-to-bottom.

Lot 299.  Football Sets, Starter Sets, Oversized Cards, Jersey Cards, Coins, A Graded Rookie, Etc. For football history fans, this collection offers a 1983 Birth of Pro Football (Latrobe, PA) 30-card set from Chess Promotions. These standard-sized cards have black & white photos on the front and informational backs. Among the subjects are John Brallier, considered the first recognized football pro, and Ed Abbaticchio, who also played Major League baseball. The cards are nm-m to mint in an unopened pack. They are accompanied by three Chess postcards, 3.5” x 5.5” or slightly larger, that show Brallier and Latrobe teams from 1895 and 1897. There also is a 4.5” x 4.5” sticker for pro football’s birthplace. There are 10 other sets: 1. Dallas Cowboys 1994 Topps Stadium Club Master Photo Members Only set of 12 5” x 7” cards – Aikman, Haley, Harper, Irvin, Jones, Johnston, Maryland, Norton, Novacek, Emmitt Smith, Kevin Smith and Williams. 2. 1996 Upper Deck Jumbo (5” x 7”) Aikman Chronicles set of 10. The following eight sets are nm-m to mint in their original packages. 3. Classic 1991 set of 50 Football Draft Picks, including Favre and Watters. 4. Classic 1992 set of 60 Football Draft Picks, including Howard and Maddox. 5-7. Three 1991 AW Sports All World Football Canadien CFL sets of 110 cards, including Rocket Ismail, Flutie, Theismann and Moon. 8-10. 1991 Pro Set World League Inaugural Series of 150 cards. Four partial sets are open for bidding: 1. 1993 Topps Stadium Club Master Photos (5” x 7”), six different of 12, #1, 2 Barry Sanders, 3, 7, 8 Thomas and 9. 2. 1992 Game Day, 72 cards from a set of 500, including #49 Deion Sanders, 143 Carter, 254 Marino, 405 Esiason, 433 Seau and 472 Monk. 2. 2008 Topps Game Jerseys, 10 cards from a set apparently of at least 70: includes Umenyiora, 3. 1996 Pinnacle Mint Collection of football unnumbered brass coins and numbered cards. The set apparently consists of 31 coins and cards; 21 are offered here: #1 Aikman, 2 Elway, 3 Kelly (2), 5 Moon, 6 Young, 9 Favre, 10, 11 (2), 12 (2), 13, 15 Emmitt Smith (2), 17 Barry Sanders, 18 Seau, 19, 20 (3), 21 (2), 22 (2), 23, 24, 25 and 28. There is an extra Aikman card. The graded card is a Barry Sanders rookie, 1989 Topps Traded #83T, graded Gem Mint 10 by the Mint Grading Service. Finally, this collection has an oversized Dan Marino card, four oversized cards from the panels of card boxes, four promotional sheets containing cards and 11 soup-style cans that held football cards. A 7” x 5” Marino Upper Deck card is #2 from a subset of 6 focused on the Hall of Fame quarterback. Three large cards featuring Joe Namath are from 1991 Upper Deck boxes of football card packs. And one with Joe Montana is from a 1993 Upper Deck box. A 7.75” x 7” panel of six cards promotes SkyBox’s 1993-94 edition and includes Taylor, Kelly, Irvin and Thomas. A slightly smaller panel has four cards, including Brett Favre, for 1995 Fleer Ultra Extra. And two pages from “Tuff Stuff” magazines each have four Tuff Stuff-Upper Deck cards for 2006, including Brady, Roethlisberger, Manning, Favre on one page. It was Pinnacle that offered Football Cards in a Can in 1997. Each can, now empty, presents three images of one player - Aikman (4), Bettis, Rice (2), Stewart (3) and Young.
