Lot 370. 1950s Boston Red Sox Pennant. This full-sized felt pennant, approximately 11 ¾”x 29 ½,” has a like-new appearance. Close examination reveals very slight wear on the tip and five tack holes, one near the tip, two in the yellow stripe at the left, and one in each of the tassels. This pennant design, with the batter over the stadium, is relatively scarce. Against its burgundy background, the graphics are striking. Technically ex-m to ex-m+, this pennant offers a high “Wow” factor.

Lot 371. 1960s Minnesota Twins Pennant. This full-sized felt pennant, approximately 11 ¾”x 29 ½,” has three tack holes, one near the tip and two in the yellow stripe at the left. Pennant graphics show two players shaking hands. One wears a jersey that displays an “M” (Minneapolis), and the other, a jersey that displays “Stp” (St. Paul), for the Twin Cities. “Minnesota Twins” is displayed in large white block letters atop the pennant’s dark-blue background. Displaying the figure of a batter against a silhouette of New York City, this pennant, approximately 11 ¾” x 29 ½,” is an attention grabber. “New York Mets” appears in bold white script and block letters on a blue background. Three tack holes, one near the tip and two in the yellow stripe at the left, which shows light wear near the top. Ex-m, and somewhat rare.

Lot 373. Very Rare New York Yankees 1961 World Series-Yankee Stadium Pennant with Player Names. The Yankees defeated the Reds in the 1961 World Series in five games. This full-sized pennant, measuring about 11 ½” x 29 ½,” displays the names of 25 Yankee, each inside a baseball. Berra, Ford, Mantle and Maris are among the names. There are three tack holes, near the tip and the corners of the blue stripe, and there is staining along the edges, primarily at the bottom. The graphics, in red and blue on a white background, stand out nicely. “New York Yankees” is in bold red script and block letters, and “1961 World Series-Yankee Stadium” is in bold blue letters against the white background of the pennant.

This full-sized 11 ½” x 29 ½” pennant presents the names of 24 Reds, including N.L. MVP Frank Robinson, 21-game winner Joey Jay and Gold Glove outfielder and .343 hitter Vada Pinson. Each name is displayed inside a baseball. Three tack holes are present, one near the tip and two in the red stripe. There are relatively heavy stains along the bottom edge and some small, light stains elsewhere. Vg-ex.
