Lot 185.  1955 Pittsburgh Steelers at Philadelphia Eagles Program. The Eagles won this Oct. 30 game, 24-0, at Connie Mack Stadium. The program cover features excellent Lon Keller artwork of a vintage football player with a nose guard around his neck. The 40-page program is ex+ with photos of Eagles, Steelers and Browns – Philadelphia’s next opponent. Among those pictured are Check Bednarik, Eddie Bell, Pete Pihos, Jess Richardson, Norman Willey, Jim Finks, Ernie Stautner, Otto Graham and Len Ford. Lot 190.  Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl IX (1975) Pin and Super Bowl XXVIII FDC and Photo. As the 3.25” red, white and black on gold pin reports, the Steelers defeated the Vikings, 16-6. Ex to ex-m pin. In Super Bowl XXVIII in 2004, New England edged the Carolina Panthers, 32-29. A 12” x 16” double-matted display with a first day cover and composite photo commemorate the game. The FDC has the Super Bowl logo and a helmet representing each team. Four players from each team are in the photo, including Steve Smith, Stephen Davis, Tom Brady and Ty Law. Nm-m.

Lot 191.  Heath Miller and Larry Foote Signed Wilson Paul Tagliabue Football. Miller and Foote each placed an nm-m 8 to mint 9 autograph on a white panel of this nm-m football, which has a small black mark above Miller’s signature. In eight seasons with the Steelers, Miller has been a reliable receiver and one of the NFL’s best-blocking tight ends. Only six Steelers and one tight end (Elbie Nickel) have gained more yards by catching a football than Miller. Foote has been a fan favorite.

Lot 192.  1984 7-11 Slurpee Football Coin Point of Purchase Display with Oversized Franco Harris Coins. In 1984, Slurpee offered “football action coins” on the bottoms of large cups. This discs are 1.75” in diameter. To promote its offer, Slurpee provided 13.5” x 17.5” signs for display in 7-11 stores. Printed on both sides, these signs contain two discs of Franco Harris that are 4.5” in diameter. This red, blue, green, white and black sign has a crease in the green at the bottom and several corner creases. It displays nicely and is seldom offered. These display pieces had already been printed when the Steelers released Harris during the 1984 training camp. He spent the season with Seattle.

Lot 440.  1956 Philadelphia Eagles Program for a Home Game with Pittsburgh. Playing at Connie Mack Stadium on Nov. 11, the Eagles won, 14-7. The 40-page program is ex and has photos of Eagles, including Chuck Bednarik, Tom Brookshier and Jess Richardson; Steelers, including Jack Butler, Ernie Stautner and Fran Rogel; Browns, including Dante Lavelli and Len Ford, and 49ers, including Y. A. Tittle, Hugh McElhenny and Joe Perry.

Lot 441.  1962 and 1963 Pittsburgh at Philadelphia Football Programs. The 1962 program is for a pre-season exhibition game at Hershey Stadium. The two teams opened the 1963 season with a 21-21 tie on Sept. 15 at Franklin Field. The 20-page 1962 program is ex with photos of Sonny Jurgensen, Tommy McDonald and Chuck Bednarik and others for the Eagles, and Bobby Layne, Big Daddy Lipscomb and John Henry Johnson among the Steelers. Pittsburgh went on to have one of its better seasons, finishing with a 9-5 record under Buddy Parker. The 56-page 1963 program adds depth charts for each teams and uses composite photos of the Eagles. Ex-m.

Lot 442.  Pittsburgh Steelers’ 1966 Program and a Ticket Stub vs. the Philadelphia Eagles. The artwork of a generic Pittsburgh ball carrier on the program cover was used also for mass-produced paintings on canvas sold at the Football Hall of Fame. The program is for an Oct. 16, game, which the Steelers lost to the Eagles, 31-14, at Pitt Stadium. It contains 66 pages of information and photos of such Steelers as Jack Butler, Elbie Nickel, Tom Tracy, Gary Ballman and Ray Mansfield. Nm with a g stub.
