Lot 118.  Babe Ruth Card Sets – 1992 Megacards and 1994 Metallic Impressions. The Megacards “Babe Ruth Collection” set of 165 cards remains sealed in the original tin box. The set features images of Ruth from “The Sporting News” and by Charles Conlon. The five cards in the Metallic Impressions Cooperstown Collection set are in five unopened packs inside a decorative tin box.

Lot 200.  Whitey Ford Autographed 1960 World Series Photo. Outstanding 8” x 10” sepia photo of Ford breezing to a 12-0 victory in Game 6 of the Series at Forbes Field. Kevin Keating authenticated the autograph, which is large, bold and mint 9 to gem mint 10.

Lot 268.  Phil Rizzuto and Yogi Berra Autographed Baseballs. Berra and Rizzuto were teammates for 11 seasons with the New York Yankees. Berra entered the Hall of Fame in 1972, and Rizzuto, in 1994. Berra’s autograph is ex 5 on the sweet spot of an nm-m ball promoting a 1999 Salvation Army dinner. The signature is light without smudges; all letters are clearly visible. Rizzuto signed an nm-m Franklin Official League ball. The signature shows bleeding and is nm 7. Kevin Keating authenticated the autographs. Rizzuto died in 2007.

Lot 269.  Dom DiMaggio Autographed OAL Bobby Brown Baseball. The youngest of the three DiMaggio brothers, he played for the Boston Red Sox for 11 seasons. Like brothers Joe and Vince, Dom was a center fielder. A career .298 batter, he was selected for the A.L. All-Star team seven times. He passed away in 2009. Kevin Keating authenticated the autograph, which is mint 9. The ball is nm with very light, scattered discoloration.

Lot 270.  1988 or 1989 Pacific Baseball Legends Cards Signed by Yankees – Larsen, Turley, Etc. The autographs, authenticated by Kevin Keating, are nm-m 8 and better. From 1988, #5 Gene Woodling, 10 Phil Rizzuto, 41 Allie Reynolds, 42 Don Larsen and 52 Bob Turley. Hank Bauer signed 1989 card #144. Larsen is the only surviving member among these Yankees.

Lot 271.  11 Autographs, 5 by Yankees, 3 by HoFers, on Photos and Other Media. Hall of Fame signers on 8” x 10” photos are Whitey Ford (b&w), and Al Kaline and George Kell (color). Other signatures on 8 x 10s are by Glenn Hubbard, Bobby Richardson, Roy Sievers and Maury Wills (with Pittsburgh). Three Yankees signatures are on unlined index cards: Clete Boyer, Ralph Houk and Tommy John. Jimmy Piersall autographed a copy of the 1992 Dark Horse Comic, “Baseball Greats: The Jimmy Piersall Story.” A set of eight collector cards is intact inside the comic. Kevin Keating authenticated the autographs, which average mint 9.

Lot 272.  Joe DiMaggio Late 1940s Iron-On. Any resemblance of the artwork to the Yankees’ Hall of Fame outfielder is purely coincidental. Nevertheless it is unusual, and a “must” for a comprehensive DiMaggio collection. It measures about 3” x 7” and has an ex appearance.

Lot 273.  1950 Menu and Napkin from Joe DiMaggio’s Restaurant in San Francisco. The oversized menu (10” x 12.5”) from DiMaggio’s Fisherman’s Wharf restaurant has his facsimile autograph on the front. Artwork on the cover shows the “view from our dining room.” The menu was mailed in 1950. It has two folds and edge tears on both the front and back page. The napkin is 4.5” x 4.75” and was folded in half.

Lot 274.  2 1955 New Haven Railroad Broadsides for Weekend Excursions to NY Yankees’ Games. Each broadside is approximately 6” x 10” and folded horizontally. An orange, off-white and black example promotes a June 24 game with the Cleveland Indians. Ex. A red, white and blue broadside lists Yankees weekend games and offers a package that includes two nights at the Hotel Concourse Plaza. Both Yankee Stadium and the hotel are pictured. The broadside is ex with a small edge chip and edge tear. These broadsides will display nicely in a railroad or baseball memorabilia collection.

Lot 275.  6 Yankees Figures and a Plate – Ruth, Mantle, Berra, Ford, Mattingly and Jeter. Ruth is the subject of a two-dimensional paper-on-plastic die-cut from Fun Shots. It is 8” wide, 11.5” tall. A 1979 doll 7” tall from Hallmark also depicts Ruth. Images of Mantle and Jeter are captured in bobbing heads. The 8.5” tall Mantle nodder is by S.A.M. from the Cooperstown Collection. Alexander Global produced the 7.5” Jeter figure as a giveaway for a 2002 spring training game at Legends Field in Tampa. A ticket for the game and a schedule that lists game incentives is included. Whitey Ford is represented by a 1990 Hartland statue, which is in the original box. Three images of Yogi Berra are on an 8.5” Gartlan plate, titled “It Ain’t Over” and issued in 1990; it is in the original box. Finally, in 1987, Sports Impressions offered collectors a 7” figurine of Don Mattingly. Seven collectibles, nm or better.

Lot 276.  1987 Sports Impressions 10 3/8” Mickey Mantle and Don Mattingly Plate. Colorful plate with four images of each Yankees star and facsimile autographs in gold. The plate, which has a gold rim and is mint in the original box, comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Sports Impressions.
