Lot 356.  4 Philadelphia 76ers Large Team Photos, 1976-78. Issued as supplements to Philadelphia’s “Sunday Bulletin,” these color photos are 10.25” x 13.25”. One photo is of the 1975-76 team (ex), two of the 1976-77 team (one vg and ex-m) and one of the 1977-78 team (vg+ to ex). Julius Erving, Dr. J, is in the three later photos. The 1976-77 team played for the NBA championship. Among the other players pictured are Doug Collins, Lloyd Free, Bill Cunningham and Darryl Dawkins.

Lot 357.  11 Hardback Books from the Random House Pro Basketball Library. Random House published these books from 1968-75 for young adult readers. Each book, published without a dust jacket, has a color photograph on the cover. Each book in the series is numbered. This group includes eight different. The books average vg+ to ex with pages that generally are ex-m or better. We’ve listed the number in the series, the title and the author: 1. “Heroes of Pro Basketball” by Phil Berger. Jerry West and Oscar Robertson cover. 2. “Great Moments in Pro Basketball” by Dave Wolf and Bill Bruns, two copies. Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell cover. 4. “Stars of Pro Basketball” by Lou Sabin and Dave Sendler. Damaged cover with Abdul-Jabbar. 6. “Strange But True Basketball Stories” by Howard Liss, two copies. Globetrotters artwork cover. 7. “Unsung Heroes of Pro Basketball” by Raymond Hill. 8. “Pro Basketball’s Big Men” by Dave Klein. Chamberlain and Abdul-Jabbar cover. 9.”Hot Shots of Pro Basketball” by Lou Sabin. 11. “Great Centers of Pro Basketball” by Bob Rubin, two copies.

Lot 382.  George L. Mikan Signed 8” x 10.75” Magazine Photo. As one of basketball’s first big men, Mikan helped to revolutionize the game. He played on seven championship teams in the National Basketball League, Basketball Association of America and the NBA. He was a league leader in scoring three times. Elected to the Hall of Fame in 1959, he was selected as one of the NBA’s 50 greatest players toward the end of the 20th century. He died in 2005. His autograph is nm 7 on a photo that has been folded several times.
