Lot 207.  Minnie Minoso Signed Chicago White Sox Retail Cap from Sports Specialties. Minoso’s autograph, which Kevin Keating has authenticated, is mint 9 on the bill of the cap. Minoso was an excellent third baseman who batted .298 for his career, was selected for the All-Star Game seven times and earned three Gold Glove Awards. He led the A.L. in being hit by pitches in 10 seasons.

Lot 208.  Phil and Joe Niekro Signed 1986 Donruss Card, Carter and Perez Autographs, 3 More. Together the Niekro brothers won 539 games, 10 more than the Perry brothers. Joe passed away in 2006. Their signatures are nm 7 on the Donruss card, #645. Hank Sauer (died 2001) signed 1959 Topps card #404, ex-m 6 autograph, and Dooley Womack, 1968 Topps #431, mint 9. HoFers Gary Carter (d. 2012) and Tony Perez, along with Rene Lachemann, signed an Expos-Marlins ticket stub. Their autographs are bold, nm-m 8 and better. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 209.  Tony Oliva Signed Rawlings Adirondack 302F Pro Ring Big Stick Professional Model Bat. Mint 9 autograph authenticated by Kevin Keating on the barrel of the 33.5” nm-m bat. A .304 career hitter, the 1964 A.L. Rookie of the Year, an eight-time All-Star and a three-time A.L. batting champion, Oliva remains one of the better players omitted from the Hall of Fame. Injuries limited his career.

Lot 210.  Cal Ripken Jr. Autograph on an Orioles Mini-Helmet. Mint 9 signature authenticated by Kevin Keating on the bill of the plastic helmet, which measures 5.5” from front to back and 3.25” from side to side.

Lot 211.  Cal Ripken Jr. Signed Ticket Marking His 1991 A.L. Player of the Month Performance. Bold mint 9 autograph on the 2 1/16” x 5 3/8” ticket, which shows Ripken at bat and provides information on his success as a hitter in September 1991. The signature extends 2 ½” across the ticket. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 212.  10 Robin Roberts Signed Brass Plates – Beautiful Display Items! Each 7” x 9” “Permagraph” plate contains an image of Roberts, biographical information, his career statistics and a large, bold mint 9 or gem mint 10 autograph on an image of a baseball. In the early 1950s, no pitcher was better than Roberts. He won at least 20 games each season from 1950 through 1955, for a total of 138 victories during the period. In 1999, The “Sporting News” counted him among the top 100 players (#74) in baseball history. Roberts passed away in 2010. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 213.  3 Brooks Robinson Autographs – on a Baseball, Photo and a Base. This trio of nicely signed collectibles could be turned into an outstanding display for a fan of the Hall of Fame Orioles third baseman. Robinson’s autograph is nm-m 8 on an nm-m Spalding “All Star” baseball. The autograph originated with Brandpower, Inc., one of the earliest autograph companies. His signature on an 8” x 10” color photo is personalized and nm-m 8. His third autograph extends 10” across the 13 3/8” x 13 3/8” base. Below the nm-m 8 autograph, Robinson added “HOF 1983.” Kevin Keating authenticated the signatures.

Lot 215.  Nolan Ryan Autographed 1992 Porcelain and Cloth Doll. Ryan signed the left pants leg of this 14” doll from Sports Impressions. The autograph, which displays boldly, shows some inoffensive bleeding on Ryan’s last name. Nm-m 8 and authenticated by Kevin Keating. The doll is nm-m with the belt and cap present.

Lot 216.  Mike Schmidt Signed Print and 3 Magazines with Autographs. Schmidt’s autograph, authenticated by Kevin Keating, is mint 9 to gem mint 10 on an 8” x 10” photo with two images of the Hall of Fame third baseman by sports artist Michael Petronella. Tom Gordon signed the Dec. 1989 issue of “Baseball Cards,” nm 7 to nm-m 8 autograph, and Mark Grace, a 1989 issue of “Minor League Monthly Price Guide” with his image, nm-m 8 to mint 9. The “Sporting News 1981 Baseball Yearbook” has signatures of Bill Rigney and several others on the cover. Kevin Keating authenticated all of the signatures.

Lot 217.  Duke Snider Autographed Magazine Cover. Mint 9 signature by the Hall of Fame Dodger on the cover of the March 1983 issue of “Baseball-Hobby Card Report.” Authenticated by Kevin Keating. Snider passed away in 2011.

Lot 218.  Duke Snider (HoF) Large, Bold, Gem Mint 10 Autograph on an Envelope. Excellent for framing. One of the top three major league center fielders in the 1950s, Snider passed away in 2011. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 219.  Bob Uecker Autographed Baseball. Nm-m 8 signature by the baseball catcher and broadcaster on the sweet spot of a mint Rawlings Official League ball. Uecker has enjoyed considerably more success behind a microphone than he did behind or beside the plate. In six seasons of part-time play, he batted .200. Since 1971, he has been the play-by-play announcer for the Milwaukee Brewers. His broadcasting honors include induction into the National Radio Hall of Fame and the Ford C. Frick Award, presented annually by the Baseball Hall of Fame. He also is a member of the World Wrestling Federation Hall of Fame. Kevin Keating authenticated the autograph.

Lot 220.  1940s Autograph Book with 40+ Baseball, Golf, Track & Field and Other Signatures. These autographs are generally nm-m 8 or better cuts of various sizes, with some index cards or paper the size of index cards. Almost all of the signatures have been taped into the book; the tape does not affect the autograph. The baseball signatures (30+) are by Jimmy Archer, Phil Cavaretta, Spud Chandler, Roger Cramer, Harry Danning, Leo Durocher, Eddie Dyer, Fred Fitzsimmons, Bert Haas, Stan Hack, Mel Harder, Bill Jurges, Ken Keltner, Larry Jansen, Bill Jurges, Dutch Leonard, Mickey Livingston, Frank McCormick, Dan MacFayden, Archie McKain, Bill Nicholson, Lefty O’Doul, John Riddle & Rip Sewell, Hank Sauer, Hal Schumacher, Burt Shotton, Fred Snodgrass, Eddie Stanky, George Vico (2), Jo Jo White, and Roger Wolff. Other signers include Dick Button (HoF figure skater), Glenn Cunningham (Track HoF), Marty Furgol (golfer), Bob Kurland (Basketball HoF), Elmer Lach (Hockey HoF), Mel Patton (Track HoF), Peter Donald (radio host and vaudevillian), Al Goodman (singer) and four unknowns. A nice mix of pencil and ink signatures, almost all of which can be removed and cleanly displayed independently! Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 221.  15 Signed HoF Gold Plaque Postcards – Barlick, Chandler, Dandridge, Doerr, Snider, Etc. Nice dealer or collector lot with excellent potential break-up value. Kevin Keating authenticated the signatures: Al Barlick, Lou Boudreau, A B Chandler (3 cards), Ray Dandridge, Bob Doerr (4), Bob Feller, Chas. Gehringer, Enos Slaughter and Duke Snider (2). All of the cards were signed on the front by these deceased Hall of Fame members. The signatures are generally nm-m 8 or better. The Barlick and Boudreau signatures show some skipping; all letters are fully present. One Chandler autograph is slightly smudged, and so is the “er” in “Slaughter.” Otherwise, the autographs are strong and bold.
