Lot 641.  95 1977-78 Topps Basketball – 64 Different Plus 34 1975-76 and 3 Other Cards. A total of 132 cards. The 64 1977-78 cards constitute almost one-half of the set. Among them is Robert Parish’s rookie, #111, g. Other key cards are #15 Tomjanovich, 58 Lucas rookie (2), 73 Gervin, 100 Erving, 124 Malone, 128 Kupchak rookie and 132 Dawkins rookie. The other 1977-78 cards grade : The 1975-76 cards include #1 Scoring Leader, 6 Steal Leaders, 115 Unseld, 151 Robinson rookie and 215 Knicks team. Also, 1972-73 #63 and 262 and one 1980-81 card. These other cards average vg to vg-ex.

Lot 642.  7 Basketball Cards, 3 Graded, Including 1978-79 Abdul-Jabbar and 2002 Yao Ming. PSA graded the Jabbar card, 1978-79 #110, NM-MT 8. Beckett’s BCCG brand graded 2002 Sage Hit #5 Yao Ming 10 Mint or Better. 2006-07 Topps #255 Bargnani rookie received a grade of 9 Mint from Grademy cards.com. The other cards are 1997 Topps #171 Bryant; 2001 Fleer Greats of the Game #44 Abdul-Jabbar and 49 Bird; and 2010 Panini #44 Durant. Each of these cards are nm-m.

Lot 643.  1981-82 Topps Basketball National Set of 66 Cards. This set includes the first regular-sized cards of Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. The card of Bird is #4 ex-m, and Johnson, 21 ex-m. Also, #20 Abdul-Jabbar ex-m and 30 Erving ex-m. Midwest card #92 of McGinnis is also included. The balance of the set is ex-m overall.

Lot 644.  4 Michael Jordan Cards and 2 Upper Deck 8” x 10” Color Photos. Two different nm photos, each with an action shot of Jordan and with an inset describing some highlight of his career. One inset list the nine consecutive games in which Jordan scored at least 40 points. The other is titled “A Scoring Champion.” The cards are 1991-92 Upper Deck #69; 1991-92 Hoops #30; 1992-93 Fleer Ultra #27, and 200-01 Upper Deck #69. The cards are nm-m.

Lot 645.  4 Signed Basketball Cards – Richardson, Bogut, Shelden Williams and Tyrus Thomas. Kevin Keating authenticated the autographs. Quentin Richardson signed 2000 SPx #122 Rookie Jersey card, which PSA has graded MINT 9. The jersey swatch is #1966 of 2500. Andrew Bogut’s autograph received a grade of 10 from Beckett on 2005-06 Bowman Rookie Card #155 that BGS graded 8.5 NM-MT+. Grademycards.com graded and authenticated the 2006-07 Press Pass cards of Williams, No. 015 of 200 signed, 8 NM-MT, and of Thomas, also 8 NM-MT. The autographs are mint 9 or gem mint 10. The cards not graded by PSA or Beckett are sold “as is.” We guarantee the autographs, consistent with our terms.

Lot 646.  John Wooden Signed Check. Wooden was one of the greatest coaches ever. In 12 seasons, his UCLA basketball teams won 10 NCAA national championships. His signature is bold on a 1990 check made out to a California church. There is a smudge on “en.” Wooden is in the Basketball Hall of Fame as a player and coach. He passed away in 2010.

Lot 647.  7 Basketball Autographs, a Harlem Astronauts Program and Other Memorabilia. Four of the signers played in the NBA: Tony Dumas, Anthony Goldwire, Doneyell Marshall and Brooks Thompson. Their autographs are ex-m 6 and better (strong on dark backgrounds) on 1994 Signature Rookies cards. Other cards are signed by Brian Reese (1994 Classic 4Sport), Deon Thomas (1995 Classic Superior Pix) and Scotty Thurman (1995 Signature Rookies). Ex-m 6 and better. A star at North Carolina, Reese is an assistant at Monmouth. Thomas left Illinois as the university’s all-time leading scorer. He played professionally in Europe and Israel. Thurman also played in Europe. Other items are a 1950s-60s Harlem Astronauts program, staples removed, vg; a Greatest Sports Legends VHS of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and a Charlotte Hornets “stinger” foam giveaway.

Lot 648.  5 NBA Rochester Royals Basketball Programs, 1949-53. The Royals represented Rochester in the National Basketball Association from 1945-57. After the 1957 season, the team relocated to Cincinnati. In 1951, the Royals were NBA champions. The programs are for the 1949-50 season vs. the Anderson Duffey Packers, vg+ to ex; 1949-50 vs. the Denver Nuggets, ex, 1” bottom spine split; 1950-51 vs. the Boston Celtics, vg+ to ex; 1951-52 vs. Indianapolis, f (covers loose and stapled on with new staples; clean, together interior) and 1952-53 vs. Ft. Wayne, vg+ to ex. Each program contains 32 pages or more. Bob Davies, Red Holzman and Bob Wanzer, all future Hall of Fame members, are pictured in the 1949-50 program. George Mikan is shown inside the 1950-51 program as a member of the NBA All-Star team, and Bob Davies is on the cover of the 1952-52 program. These early NBA programs are scarce.

Lot 649.  11 Hardback Books from the Random House Pro Basketball Library. Random House published these books from 1968-75 for young adult readers. Each book, published without a dust jacket, has a color photograph on the cover. Each book in the series is numbered. This group includes eight different. The books average vg+ to ex with pages that generally are ex-m or better. We’ve listed the number in the series, the title and the author: 1. “Heroes of Pro Basketball” by Phil Berger. These cards have images of Charlie Diehl, diving star, action, ex-m; Ned Day, bowling champion, portrait, ex+; Gretchen Fraser, skiing champion, action, vg-ex; Jimmy Patterson, diving star, portrait ex-m and action ex; and Jim Pollard g-vg.
