Lot 665.  Warren Spahn 1958-62 Original Hartland Statue. The plastic in this statue is off-white to yellow. The statue show light wear on Spahn’s chin, neck and left forearm.

Lot 666.  Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford Store Model Baseball Gloves. Mantle and Ford were close friends. In the introduction to Ford’s book “Slick,” Mantle wrote, “I know men are not supposed to talk about love for other men, especially so-called macho athletes, but I don’t mind telling you that I love Whitey Ford. I couldn’t love him more if he was my own brother.” Together they helped the New York Yankees to win five world championships. The Mantle glove is a Rawlings GJ990 model, and the Ford, a Spalding 42-241 specimen. Both gloves are vg. Ford’s name and most of the other stampings remain strong. The cloth label is missing. Mantle’s stamped name is strong; the other stampings vary, and the Rawlings cloth patch is frayed. Both gloves are for a right-hander and will fit a smaller adult hand.

Lot 667.  4 Store Model Baseball Gloves – Mike Schmidt, Albie Pearson and Tom Tresh. The adult-sized Rawlings GJ 54 Schmidt glove is vg-ex with strong stampings and a worn but intact patch. Some of the lacing has come undone. The Pearson “Professional” glove by Sonnett is attractive, ex to ex-m with bold stampings. Essentially formless, it is also pliable and can easily be worn by an adult. Rawlings made the Tom Tresh glove. Model GM15 for a right-hander, it is ex. Both the Pearson and Tresh gloves have metal buttons for closing the flap on the back. So does the fourth glove, which has no identifying marks. It appears to be from the 1940s.

Lot 668.  Atlanta “Braves Jr. Badge” 2 1/8” Pin. This multi-colored pin uses the same mascot that the Braves used in Milwaukee. Text at the bottom says “Good Only When Accompanied by an Adult.” Ex.

Lot 669.  Carl Yastrzemski 1962 Action Baseball Game Made by the Pressman Toy Corporation. Yastrzemski’s image is on the 15” x 19.75” box, which has a tear in the upper right corner and otherwise is vg-ex. The tin litho game board, which displays Yaz’s facsimile autograph, is ex-m, showing minor wear from the action of the bat. Most of the game pieces are missing.

Lot 670.  Baseball Grab Bag – Bobble Heads, Publications, All-Star Ballots, Jerseys, Etc. This collection includes an almost-complete run of fan All-Star ballots from 1973-2010; missing 1983, 1984, 1986, 1998, 1999 and 2006-09. Unpunched and nm to nm-m. The bobble heads are of Alex Rodriguez and Oliver Perez. The Bobble Doubles figure of Rodriguez as a Texas Ranger is mint in the original box. The boxless Perez bobble is ex-m. The jerseys are size medium store models from the Expos (vg-ex), which concluded business in Montreal in 2004, and the Astros (nm). Publications are the April 30, 1980 issue of “Inside Sports” with Nolan Ryan on the cover, nm-m; the Feb. 23, 2000 “Sporting News” with Ken Griffey, Jr., on the cover, nm-m; the 1952 “Rawlings Official Baseball Rules,” nm; and “The All-Star Legend,” 1977, nm. Also: A 1994 Cincinnati Reds plastic cup from Coke commemorating the first televised baseball game (in 1939), nm; three “USA Today” full pages with Johnny Bench promoting the All-Star Game (1990 and 1991), pages folded twice; a rolled poster from the 1994 All-Star Game that reproduces All-Star program covers, 1933-93; and a 1988 “Reggie Jackson: ‘Mr. October’ VHS.”

Lot 671.  1987 Minnesota Twins “Championship Drive” Hanky and 3 Full-Sized Baseball Pennants. The “Homer Hanky,” approximately 14” x 14”, was distributed by the “Star Tribune” of Minneapolis. The Twins won the A.L. pennant and the World Series. Ex+. The pennants mark the 100th anniversary of the St. Louis Cardinals; the final homestand of the Cleveland Indians at Municipal Stadium, Oct. 1-3, 1993; and the opening day of Victory Field, home of the Indianapolis Indians, on July 11, 1996. These pennants are nm+ to mint. The Cleveland pennant has Chief Wahoo over Municipal Stadium. The names of the players and coaching staff are presented. The Indianapolis team is the Triple-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Lot 672.  Vince Coleman St. Louis Cardinals Jersey. Playing for the Cardinals, Coleman was the 1985 N.L. Rookie of the Year. He played for six seasons in St. Louis before commencing a journey that took him to New York (Mets), Kansas City, Seattle, Cincinnati and Detroit during the next seven seasons. He was a two-time All-Star. The jersey has a Rawlings size 42 tag in the tail. Coleman’s name and number are on the back, and his number on the front, which shows significant use and stains.

Lot 674.  Nolan Ryan Full-Sized “Texas Heat” Strikeout Pennant and 1998 Starting Lineup Figure. The 1992 pennant, which has an illustration of Ryan with the Texas Rangers, is nm-m to mint. From the 1998 Cooperstown Collection, the 12” Ryan figure is mint in the original box.

Lot 675.  Philadelphia Phillies 1990s Road Jersey by Rawlings. Nm adult-sized jersey in the style the Phils began using in 1992. It has No. 7 on the back and left sleeve.

Lot 676.  Fleer 2002 Duke Snider ’57 Chevy. This 1:24 scale model, No. 216 of 275 produced, is mint in the original box. This is the silver version, which is trimmed in blue. The Brooklyn Dodgers’ “B” is on the hood.

Lot 688.  5 Pie Traynor Collectibles Including a Money Clip, a Photo and 3 Vintage Baseball Cards. The money clip, which is ex, is engraved with Traynor’s name, “Solomon Lodge No. 231” and “1-5-67.” No. 231 is a Freemason Lodge in Pittsburgh. Traynor is in uniform in a vintage 3.5” x 3.5” b&w photo on a 5” x 5” mount. Vg-ex. The cards are: 1925-31 Postcard Back Exhibit, g-vg; 1929 R316 Kashin, framed to 6” x 8”, vg-ex appearance as framed; and 1936 R311 Glossy Finish, vg+. Traynor was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1948.

Lot 695.  Color Photo of the 1950 Pittsburgh Pirates. This 8.75” x 11.25 photo is printed with the players’ names at the bottom. Ralph Kiner was the star of this team, which posted a 57-96 record. Vg.

Lot 696.  Rare 1950 Pittsburgh Pirates Full-Sized Scroll Pennant with Kiner, Murtaugh, Etc. White, beige and gray pennant on burgundy with a scroll listing 24 Pirates, including manger Bill Meyer and such players as Ralph Kiner, Danny Murtaugh and Vernon Law. Ex with soiling and cracking on the graphics, primarily at the left. The tip is strong. The 1950 Pirates were the second-worst team in baseball, which didn’t prompt a high level of pennant sales.
