Lot 570.  Softcover Book – “The New Chicago White Sox” by Arch Ward. In this 1951 96-page 7” x 10” book, Ward provides a history of the White Sox, with an emphasis on the late 1940s and 1950. Sports editor of the “Chicago Tribune,” Ward was a creative thinker and master promoter. He is credited with creating the baseball All-Star Game, the College All-Star Game, the All-American Football Conference and the Golden Gloves boxing tournament. His book, an extensively illustrate first edition, is ex-m and somewhat scarce.
