Lot 710.  Mickey Mantle Huge Autograph on a 24” x 36’ Poster. Mantle’s nm-m 8 signature spans almost nine inches! Somewhat faded and showing light to moderate foxing, the poster displays well with Mantle’s autographs serving as the focus of attention. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 711.  1961 New York Yankees Poster by Ron Lewis Autographed by 28. Nm-m 8 and better autographs were placed on the poster at the famous 1989 team reunion show in Atlantic City. Twelve of the 28 signers from this fabled team are now deceased: Yogi Berra, Johnny Blanchard, Clete Boyer, Bob Cerv, Tex Clevenger, Jim Coates, Frank Crosetti, Bud Daley, Art Ditmar, Al Downing, Ryne Duren, Whitey Ford, Bill Gardner, Bob Hale, Ralph Houk, John James, Hector Lopez, Jack Reed, Hal Reniff, Bobby Richardson, John Sain, Roland Sheldon, Bill Skowron, Bill Stafford, Ralph Terry, Lee Thomas, Tom Tresh and Bob Turley. The vg+ to ex poster measures 24” x 37.5”. Matt and frame it with cuts of Mantle, Maris, Elston Howard and others for a magnificent display piece! Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 712.  1989 New York Yankees Team Ball Signed by 22. Manager Dallas Green is on the sweet spot. The other autographs are by Don Mattingly, Jesse Barfield, Mike Pagliarulo,, Alvaro Espinoza, Steve Balboni, Lance McCullers, Don Slaught, Dave Righetti, Eric Plunk, Roberto Kelly, Dale Mohoric, Chuck Cary, Ken Phelps, Clay Parker, Greg Cadaret, Steve Sax, Luis Polonia and coaches Billy Connors and Pat Corrales. Almost all of the autographs are nm-m 8 or better, and the OAL Bobby Brown ball is mint.

Lot 713.  Lefty Gomez Autographed 1983 Cramer Sports Baseball Legends Card #117. Nm-m 8 signature by one of the best pitchers in Yankees history. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1972 and died in 1989.

Lot 715.  7 Baseball Cards Signed by 10 NY Yankees – Ford, Slaughter, Berra, Mize, Etc. Here is a list of the signers and the cards they signed: 1. Enos Slaughter, 1958 Topps #142, nm 7 autograph. 2. Bill Skowron, 1959 Topps #554, nm 7 to nm-m 8. 3-6. 1960 Topps #465, Ralph Houk, Bill Dickey, Frank Crosetti and Ed Lopat, nm 7. 7. Whitey Ford, 1961 Topps #160, ex-m 6 to nm 7, strong on a complex background. 8. Yogi Berra, 1981 Fleer #351, mint 9. 9. Johnny Mize, 1983 TCMA 50 Years of Yankee All Stars 1933-1983, nm-m 8 to mint 9. 10. Billy Martin, strong autograph, displays as ex 5 to ex-m 6 on a dark background. Lot 716.  6 1988 or 1989 Pacific Baseball Legends Cards Signed by Yankees – Larsen, Turley, Etc. The autographs, authenticated by Kevin Keating, are nm-m 8 and better. From 1988, #5 Gene Woodling, 10 Phil Rizzuto, 41 Allie Reynolds, 42 Don Larsen and 52 Bob Turley. Hank Bauer signed 1989 card #144. Larsen is the only surviving member among these Yankees.

Lot 717.  20 8” x 10” Photos Signed by New York Yankees – Bouton, Richardson, Etc. Sixteen autographs are on photos showing copies of a player’s baseball cards: Luis Arroyo, Stan Bahnsen, John Blanchard, Ron Blomberg, Jim Coates, Art Ditmar, Ryne Duren, Steve Hamilton, Tom Henrich, Hector Lopez, Irv Noren, John Sain, Rollie Sheldon, Charlie Silvera, Bill Stafford and Ralph Terry. These signatures are bold, mint 9 and gem mint 10. Four others signed photos with their image: Jim Bouton, Bud Daley, Bobby Richardson and Pedro Ramos. The Daley signature is nm 7 to nm-m 8. The others are 9s and 10s.

Lot 718.  10 1996 Checks Signed by New York Yankees – Guidry, Slaughter, Etc. All of the checks are endorsed on the back with nm-m 8 and better signatures: John Hassett, Hal Reniff, Billy Gardner, Bud Daley, Joe DeMaestri, Enos Slaughter, Ron Guidry, Allen Gettel and Jerry Lumpe. Slaughter, Hassett, Reniff and Gettel are deceased. All checks were written by Alan Shapiro in 1996 on a Chemical Bank account. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 726.  14 Autographs, Many with a Cincinnati Connection – Schott, Lombardi, Hoyt, Rowe, Etc. These signatures are on various media. Sometimes it comes down to getting a baseball star’s autograph on whatever you have. Maybe a bag from a grocery store. That’s what Ernie Lombardi signed, and so did three other Reds who played in the 1930s. The pencil signature of the Hall of Fame catcher is nm 7 on a 3” x 4.5” section from a bag. There is a stray pencil mark next to the top of the “b.” The three autographs are on a slightly larger portion of a bag – Eddie Joost, Chuck Aleno and Ival Goodman. The Aleno signature is ex-m 6, while the other are nm. Marge Schott autographed a panel of a holiday brochure and added a paw print representing her St. Bernard Schottzie. Mint 9. During his Hall of Fame career, Waite Hoyt never played for the Reds, but he broadcast their games for 24 years. One of his broadcast partners was Jack Moran. Both signed an autograph page (3.5” x 5”) dated 1958. Both signatures are mint 9. Pete Rose and Jim Bunning signed the back of the same computer card. The card is creased and the autographs are in opposite directions, but they could be separated. Gary Nolan autographed the other end of the card. Nm-m 8. Other autographs are by: Gene Freese (nm 7) on a business card; “Schoolboy” Rowe (nm-m 8) and Rudy York (ex to ex-m 6) on a section clipped from an envelope; and Chuck Tanner on a name tag from a SABR event. This group includes Rose, three Hall of Fame members and a couple of stars.

Lot 745.  1940s Autograph Book with 40+ Baseball, Golf, Track & Field and Other Signatures. These autographs are generally nm-m 8 or better on cuts of various sizes and some index cards or paper the size of index cars. Almost all of the signatures have been taped into the book; the tape does not affect the autograph. The baseball signature are by Jimmy Archer, Phil Cavaretta, Spud Chandler, Roger Cramer, Harry Danning, Leo Durocher, Eddie Dyer, Fred Fitzsimmons, Bert Haas, Stan Hack, Mel Harder, Bill Jurges, Ken Keltner, Larry Jansen, Bill Jurges, Dutch Leonard, Mickey Livingston, Frank McCormick, Dan MacFayden, Archie McKain, Bill Nicholson, Lefty O’Doul, John Riddle & Rip Sewell, Hank Sauer, Hal Schumacher, Burt Shotton, Fred Snodgrass, Eddie Stanky, George Vico (2), Jo Jo White, and Roger Wolff. Other signers include Dick Button (HoF figure skater), Glenn Cunningham (track HoF), Marty Furgol (golfer), Bob Kurland (basketball HoF), Elmer Lach (hockey HoF), Mel Patton (track HoF), Peter Donald (radio host and vaudevillian), Al Goodman (singer) and four unknowns. A nice mix of pencil and ink signatures, almost all of which can be removed and cleanly displayed independently!
