Pittsburgh Pirates Autographs and Memorabilia   30 Lots       »

Lot 63.  1908 PC800 Pittsburgh Pirates Vignette Fred Clarke Postcard SGC-Graded Authentic. The card has a message and a 1908 postmark on the back. At one time, “Clarke Mgr Pgh” was written on the front in pencil and then erased. Impressions from these entries can been seen when the card is held at a certain angle to light. Otherwise, the front of the card has a clean vg-ex appearance. These cards are extremely scarce in any condition. We’ve seen examples graded vg-ex that didn’t look nearly as good as this one.
Winning Bid $180.

Lot 65.  1910 Pittsburgh Gazette Times Wagner Postcard and a 1908 Team PC with Wagner. In this sepia postcard, Honus Wagner is described as “the World’s Greatest Base Ball Player.” Around his image, the card presents landmarks from his hometown of Carnegie, PA. On the back, the card has two very small areas of paper loss and a light stain. The front is vg. The 1908 card has vignette photos of 12 players from “Pittsburg’s Great Baseball Team.” Wagner is pictured at the center with another future member of the Hall of Fame, Fred Clarke. G. The two cards are matted and framed for display to 8.75” x 10.75”.
Winning Bid $520.
