 Lot 289. 10,000+ Baseball and Other Cards from Tommy John’s Collection. These cards are predominantly nm or better from the 1980s and 1990s. A significant majority are Topps, but Score, Upper Deck, Sportflics, All-Time Greats, Donruss, Fleer, Mother’s Cookies and others are present. The cards appear to have been organized, but not searched. Stars seem to be reasonably represented. Several 1989 Umpires sets are included, a Pro Set Golf Special Inaugural Set, 1981 football cards including Walter Payton, and some basketball, hockey and non-sport cards. There are 20 unopened packs, primarily from the 2000s, and a Reggie Jackson game-used bat card.

 Lot 290. Approximately 6,000 Tommy John Cards and 11 Sets from His Collection. The sets are 1991 Upper Deck factory, still sealed, and 10 1993 Action Packed All-Star Gallery Series 2 sets of 84. All 10 of these sets remain factory-sealed. They come with a transmittal letter from Action Packed. The cards of Tommy John range from his 1964 rookie to specimens issued in the 2000s. Among the early cards are 1964 #146, John’s rookie card, 11 cards, 7 vg-ex 2 vg and 2 p; 1965 #208, 24 cards, average g-vg; 1966 #486, 7; 1967 #609, 2; 1968 #72, 90; 1969 #465, 68; 1970 #180, 85; 1971 #520, 31; 1972 #264, 65; 1973 #258, 89; 1974 #451, 77; and 1975 #47, 53. Other cards of special interest are 1971 Kellogg’s (15), all with 443 BB; and 130 cards from his minor league coaching days, 54 of him with the Edmonton Trappers, 21 with the Bridgeport Bluefish, 29 with the Harrisburg Senators and 26 with the Staten Island Yankees. The cards listed here average vg. New cards in the collection are generally nm or better.
