Lot 347.  3 Rittgers-Like Baseball Figures – Umpire, Pitcher and Batter. These three figures resemble Rittgers figures, but they apparently were produced by a competing company. Each figure is approximately 5.5” tall. The umpire is ex-m to nm. The pitcher, designated “Lefty” on the bottom of his left shoe, has been repaired at the right knee and left arm. The batter shows extensive repairs, at the right knee, bat, arm, shoulder and neck.

Lot 348.  Joe DiMaggio Circa 1950 Menu from His Restaurant in San Francisco. The front of the 10” x 13” menu has a facsimile autograph of the Yankees’ Hall of Fame center fielder and shows his restaurant and cocktail lounge on Fisherman’s Wharf. The cover has a vg+ appearance. The menu has splits at the top and bottom of the spine and a 1.75” tear that has been repaired with tape on the second page.

Lot 349.  8 Comic Books with a Baseball Connection – Jackie Robinson, Stanky, Musial, Etc. From 1950-52, Fawcett Publications issued six comic books focusing on the life and career of Robinson. Issue No. 4, offered here, is condition-challenged. One-fourth of the front cover and all of the back cover are missing. Otherwise the comic is complete, except for a large corner chip on the first page. All of the text is present. A 1951 comic titled “Eddie Stanky, Baseball Hero” is missing the covers; the interior is complete and consistent with a vg-fine copy. The earliest comic, issued by Spalding in conjunction with Major League Baseball, is titled “Circling the Bases.” Snuffy Stirnweiss of the Yankees and George Case and George Myatt of the Senators are pictured inside this 1947 comic, which provides tips on playing baseball. Vg to vg+. Stan Musial is featured in a Wheaties ad on the back of Dell’s Oct. 1952 “Lone Ranger” No. 52 book, vg-fine, and Johnny Bench, in a Hillerich & Bradsby ad on the back of “Man from Atlantis” No. 4 from 1976, very fine. Three 1950-52 issues of “Sports Action” have stories on baseball and other sports: No. 3, f-g; No. 10, vf; and No. 12, vg.

Lot 350.  5 Boston Red Sox Programs – 1955, 1956, 1959, 1960 and 1961. All of the programs are neatly scored in pencil. Each contains 24 pages, including front and back covers. 1955 vs. Cleveland. Scored for a May 18 game that Cleveland won, 19-0. Harry Agganis is in the printed lineup for Boston, and Ralph Kiner for Cleveland. Vg+. 1956 vs. Chicago. Scored for a 6-3 White Sox win on Aug. 22. Ted Williams, Nellie Fox and Luis Aparicio are in the printed lineups. Williams is pictured with manager Mike Higgins. Ex. 1959 vs. New York. Scored for a July 12 Boston win, 7-3. Stars in the printed lineups include Williams and Mickey Mantle. Ex. 1960 vs. Detroit. Scored for a May 6 Boston victory, 3-2. Ex. And 1961 vs. New York. Scored for July 23 Red Sox win, 5-4. Starters in the printed lineup include Carl Yastrzemski, Mantle, Roger Maris and Yogi Berra. Ex.

Lot 351.  Bob Gibson 1960 Rochester Red Wings Russell Athletic Diamond Legends Jersey. Gibson pitched for the International League team in 1958 and again in 1960. In six games in 1960, he won two, lost three and posted a 2.85 ERA. The mint size 56 jersey has Gibson’s name and number on the back and his name and a facsimile autograph on a patch sewn into the tail. Gibson was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1981, his first year of eligibility. He earned the N.L. Cy Young Award twice and its MVP honor once.

Lot 352.  Rochester Red Wings Size XL Jacket. Attractive ex to ex-m medium-weight jacket by the New Buffalo Shirt Factory with the Red Wings’ logotype on the front. It shows wear on the metal buttons, several stains and soiling along some edges.

Lot 353.  Rochester Red Wing Stock Certificate. Issued in 1967, this certificate for five shares was canceled in 2012. It measures about 7.75” x 11.75” and is vg-ex.

Lot 355.  Scarce 3 3/8” Medallion Commemorating George Brett’s 1980 Season. In 1980, the Hall of Fame third baseman captured the A.L. batting title with a .390 average. He drove in 118 runs, hit 24 home runs and contributed hits to the Kansas City Royals’ cause in 30 consecutive games. The medallion, apparently made of steel, has Brett’s image on the obverse and marks his “1980 American League Batting Championship.” The reverse displays the Royals’ logo, presents key statistics and provides the dates of Brett’s hitting streak. Nm. The medallion weighs more than 12 ounces.

Lot 356.  “Beckett Monthly” Price Guide First Issue – Nov. 1984. From the hobby’s premier source of price guides, this inaugural issue has cards of Roberto Clemente and Dale Murphy on the cover. Ryne Sandberg is pictured on the back cover. This copy is clean and complete with stress creases showing along the spine. Vg+ to ex.

Lot 357.  3 “Little Slugger” Ceramic Figurines from Tommy John’s Collection. A pitcher, catcher and batter, each approximately 8” tall. Ex-m.

Lot 358.  4 Enesco Baseball Porcelain Figurines and 3 Others from Tommy John’s Collection. These pre-Jim Shore collectibles include a sculpture of a pitcher titled “Burnin’ It In” from the “Champions” series. The 9.5” figurine is on a base that measures 7” from front to back. Nm-m. Three figurines, all dated 1983, are of boys playing baseball, one batting, one pitching and one sliding. The pitcher and batter are 4.5”-5” tall, while the slider is 2.25” in height and 5” across. Nm-m. Two other figures are from Enesco, a 3.5” bear batter from the “Lucy and Me” collection and a 2.75” Garfield with a bat. Nm-m. The fifth figure, a boy with a ball in his left hand, looks like a cross between an Enesco figurine and a Hummel, but is neither. The figure is almost 4” tall and nm.

Lot 360.  Carlton Fisk Bobbing Head from a 2001 Lowell Spinners Event Honoring Him. Nm 7” nodder by SGA in the original box. At their June 29, 2001 game, the Spinners, the Boston Red Sox’ Class A affiliate, held a uniform number retirement night for Fisk. The bobbing heads, sponsored by Pepsi and Trinity EMS, were given to fans. The Fisk bobble was the first given away by the Spinners.
