An especially interesting photo postcard shows the team from Troop E of the U.S. Army’s 6th Cavalry. Eleven members of this circa 1910-20 team display a trophy cup. “Baseball in the Camps” is the title of a color postcard with a batter, catcher and other players in uniform. Sackett & Wilhelms issued the Series No. 24 card. The other pre-linen cards are “Base Ball Game Between Atlantic and Pacific Fleets” issued in Panama and “Sports at the Station” (U.S. Naval Station, Great Lakes, IL), 1917. The latter card shows a baseball team, football game action and other sports activities. The fifth card, a linen issue, presents a ball game at the WAAC Training Center at Ft. Oglethorpe, GA. The cards average vg.
