Lot 380.  Trade Card, Early 1900s Holiday and Ford Postcards and Davy Crockett Cards. Eleven cards span the late 1800s through 1956. A 4.5” x 6.5” color trade card showing a mill in winter promotes McLane’s Pills; tear at the top, significant back damage, p. The key postcards offer Thanksgiving or Christmas greetings and a glimpse of a Model T Ford car. The Thanksgiving postcard, from H.S.V. Litho and postmarked in 1909, depicts an early America settler carving a turkey as a Native American peers through a window. This colorful embossed card has a gold border; g-vg. A Wolfe & Co. card postmarked in 1919 offers a Christmas greeting from a young girl and three puppies. Vg. In the Ford postcard, which has pencil writing on the back and is dated 1919, a boy with a broken wheel on his toy car asks a Model T driver if he has an extra wheel. This Ford Booster comic postcard features artwork by Witt. G+. The fourth postcard, from 1909, has a chipped corner and otherwise is vg. The Davy Crockett orange-back cards are #6, 11, 17, 24, 72 and 77. They average f.

Lot 381.  1931 Wills “Strange Craft” Set of 50. Color fronts present various ships and boats, while the backs explain what makes these craft odd, unique, or both. Among them are a ship made of concrete, a submarine powered by steam (that didn’t work out very well) and the H.M.S. “Hermes,” the first ship specifically designed as an aircraft carrier. Vg-ex to ex+.

Lot 382.  3 1935-37 Gum Inc. “G-Men and Heroes of the Law” Cards – No. 14, 15 and 16. The first card has a copyright line on the front and back. The two others do not. The cards grade #14 vg+, 15 vg+ and 16 g-vg.

Lot 383.  1938 Wills “Air Raid Precautions” Set of 50. This set, which has color fronts and descriptive, adhesive backs, constitutes a “how to” for withstanding an air raid. Airplanes, a balloon barrage and an anti-aircraft gun are also shown. Overall, vg+ to ex.

Lot 384.  6 1950 Bowman “Wild Man” Cards. The cards from this tough Bowman issue are #4 vg+ to ex, 8 vg, 11 f, 12 vg-ex, 21 vg-ex and 22 vg-ex.

Lot 385.  12 1950 Bowman “Wild West” Cards. All of these cards exhibit some degree of foxing, which has not been considered in the grading. This group consists of #A-12 The Alamo ex+, A-13 ex+, B-12 vg-ex, C-8 Daniel Boone ex-m, C-10 Annie Oakley ex+, D-1 ex-m, D-3 ex-m, D-4 ex+, D-6 ex-m, G-10 ex, H-8 Alibi Terhune ex and H-12 Pat Brady f-g.

Lot 386.  25 Different 1950 Quaker Cereal “Sgt. Preston” Cards and 2 from 1956. A total of 27 cards from a set of 36, with 25 from the “radio” set issued in 1950. Four of these cards have the date on the back. The numbers are 1, 2-12, 16-18, 20, 21, 23-27, 29, 30, 33 and 36. The two cards from the more recent issue are #7 and 35. The fronts from the two versions are identical, and only the copyright information on the backs is different. All of the cards with the exception of three are nm or better.

Lot 387.  1950 Topps Hopalong Cassidy – 42 Different Numbered 5-186. Here is the complete list of cards: #5, 10, 11, 18, 19, 22, 25, 31, 34, 47-51, 55, 57, 67, 77, 80, 93, 105, 106, 110, 122, 128, 143, 147, 149, 151, 152, 154-157, 159, 161, 173-175, 181, 182 and 186. Twenty cards grade vg to vg-ex. The grades of the other cards are G to g-vg: 9. F to f-g: 6. P to p-f: 7.

Lot 388.  40 1950s Non-Sport Cards – “Robin Hood,” “Scoop,” “Wings,” “Power for Peace,” Etc. Topps issued all but the four 1954 Bowman “Power for Peace” cards: #17 f, 21 vg, 63 vg and 64 vg. The earliest Topps issue is its 1950 “License Plates” series: #1-4, 16, 62, 63 and 68. These cards average ex to ex-m. 1952 “Wings”: #17, 58, 69, 91, 128, 130, 151, 165, 177 and 191. These cards average g to g-vg 1954 “Scoop”: #12 vg-ex, 28 Boston Tea Party g, 37 John Brown’s Raid vg-ex, 52 Queen Elizabeth II g, 59 FDR at Yalta f, 61 Berlin Airlift f, 67 vg and 70 f-g. 1957 “Robin Hood”: #3-5, 11, 28, 35 and 50-53. These cards average vg to vg-ex.

Lot 389.  Topps Cards: 39 1964 “John F. Kennedy” and 37 1963 “Flag Midgee.” The JFK cards are #1 (3), 2, 5, 9, 12, 14, 20 (2), 21 (3), 23 (2), 25, 27-29, 30 (2), 34, 35 (2), 36, 37, 38 (2), 41, 43, 48, 50, 54, 61, 65 (2), 66, 68 and 69. They grade vg overall. There are 30 different “Flag Midgee” cards from a set of 39. G-vg overall. A total of 76 cards.

Lot 390.  44 “Batman” Cards from 3 1966 Topps Sets. One card, #50, is from the “Bat Laffs” set. Puzzle A (red bat), 34 cards: #3A (2), 4A, 5A, 6A (3), 7A-9A, 10A (2), 15A (3), 16A (2), 17A (2), 18A, 19A (2), 23A, 29A, 34A (3), 35A, 37A, 42A, 43A and 44A (3). Puzzle B (blue bat), 9 cards: 5B, 9B (2), 15B, 19B (2), 21B, 36B and 42B. These cards average g-vg.
