Lot 90.  Star-Studded NY Yankees 1947 Picture Pack Set of 25 - Berra, DiMaggio, Rizzuto, Etc. The Yankees issued this set, which includes Yogi Berra, Joe DiMaggio and Phil Rizzuto, all ex-m+. The remaining photos also average ex-m+. Among the individuals pictured are Bobby Brown, Frank Crosetti, Bucky Harris, Tom Henrich, Ralph Houk, Charlie Keller, Joe Page and Allie Reynolds. The original envelope is included.

Grading ex-m+ overall, this pack features Yogi Berra nm+ and Bill Dickey, Joe DiMaggio, Phil Rizzuto and Casey Stengel, all ex-m+. Other familiar names are Crosetti, Harris, Henrich, Keller, Lopat, Page, Raschi, Reynolds and Shea. Includes the original envelope.

Lot 101.  13 Early 1960s NY Yankees Color Photos – 12 Different with Ford, Mantle and Maris. These picture pack photos, approximately 7 3/4” x 9 7/8”, apparently were issued over several years. Except for Stottlemyre, all of the players were with the Yankees in 1961 or 1962. The photos show Bouton nm-m, Clete Boyer (2, one nm and the other vg-ex with minor tape residue on the back), Downing (minor tape residue on the back; otherwise) nm-m, Ford (two tiny areas of tape residue on the back; otherwise) nm, Houk nm-m, Elston Howard vg-ex, Mantle nm+, Maris nm, Pepitone nm-m, Richardson ex-m+, Stottlemyre (back tape residue; otherwise) nm+ and Tresh ex-m.

Lot 141.  Whitey Ford Signed Baseball and a Baseball Signed for Him by Drew Brees. Ford’s signature is mint 9 on the sweet spot of a mint OML Selig baseball. He added “HOF 74.” Brees, the New Orleans quarterback and MVP of Super Bowl XLIV, is a Ford fan and signed several baseballs for him. This is one of them. Brees’ sweet spot signature is mint 9. Lot 301.  Jurinko Yankee Stadium Scene Signed by Ford, Piniella, Perry, Guidry, Rivers, 2 More. Seven Yankees autographs adorn the infield of this 1992 Andy Jurinko open edition print titled “‘Yankee Stadium Panorama’ Bronx.” They are nm-m 8 and better by Whitey Ford, Lou Piniella, Gaylord Perry, Ron Guidry, Mickey Rivers, Luis Arroyo and Willie Randolph. The image itself is 6.75” x 15.75, matted in Yankees pinstripes to 14.5” x 21.5”. Nm-m. Autographs authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 302.  1950 New York Yankees Yearbook – the Team’s First! This 64-page “Sketch Book” pays tribute to the 1949 world championship team and such Yankees heroes as Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and Joe DiMaggio. The covers are split approximately half way along the spine but remain attached to the pages; their appearance is vg. The interior is intact and ex.

Lot 304.  Lou Gehrig 1940s-40s Hillerich & Bradsby 40 Louisville Slugger 16” Mini Bat. Gehrig’s name is etched into the barrel in black, with “Genuine” above and “Reg. U.S. Pat. Off.” below. Vg-ex.

Lot 305.  George “Babe” Ruth 1940s-40s Hillerich & Bradsby 40 Louisville Slugger 16” Mini Bat. Ruth’s name is in gold on the barrel. The “e” in “Babe” is difficult to read. Ex.

Lot 306.  DiMaggio, Gehrig and Roy “Lefty” Mackey Hillerich & Bradsby 1940s-50s Mini Bats. All are “40” models. The gold stampings on the Joe DiMaggio bat remain strong; ex-m. The stampings on the Lou Gehrig and Mackey bats are somewhat light but readable; both bats show wear on the end of the barrel. The Mackey bat is unusual because he spent his entire 11-season career (1931-41) in the minors, primarily at the Class C and D level. He did play part of the 1935 season with Class A Milwaukee of the American Association.

Lot 307.  May 26, 1936 Sepia 11” x 14” Photo of Rookies Joe DiMaggio and Billy Sullivan. A product of the Photocraft Co. of New Haven, the glossy photo presents an action shot of each rookie. An accompanying caption notes that Sullivan was batting .433 and DiMaggio’s “batting and fielding with the New York Yankees has been sensational so far this season.” DiMaggio finished the season as an All-Star with a .323 batting average; he placed eighth in the league’s MVP voting. How Sullivan was considered a rookie is unclear. By 1936, he had already made 1,036 official at bats, including 363 in 1931. For 1936, he batted .351 in 339 plate appearances. The photo has scuffs along the top edge, one about 0.5” long near DiMaggio’s glove and a 0.75” tear below Sullivan. The photo displays impressively.

Lot 308.  1938 Advertisement with Babe Ruth Receiving a Louisville Slugger Sterling Silver Bat. In a 9.5” x 15” newspaper ad, Ruth receives the bat as “a token of his hitting prowess” at the annual New York Chapter of Sportswriters’ Dinner. The ad lists Ruth’s home run total as 729, which includes the 15 he belted in World Series competition. The ad has a couple of creases away from Ruth’s image, and it’s matted to 16” x 20”.
