Lot 276. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Autographed Autobiography. ESPN’s 26th greatest athlete of the 20th century signed the first title page “Abdul Jabbar.” The signature is large and bold – an unimprovable 10. Associated Press selected Abdul-Jabbar as the century’s 31st best athlete. He won six NBA championships and MVP awards. He retired as the league’s all-time leader in scoring, defensive rebounds and other categories. Karl Malone is second on the all-time scoring list – 1,459 points behind Abdul-Jabbar. Lot 277. Bob Cousy Signed Index Card Matted with a Color Photo. Large nm-m 8 signature matted to 8” x 14” with a 4” x 7” photo of Cousy with the Boston Celtics. Cousy was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1971, and the Celtics retired his uniform number. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 278. Vintage Photos of Boston Celtics Hall of Fame Star Bob Cousy as a College Player. Cousy was a three-time All-American guard at Holy Cross before he launched his HoF pro career. He appears in a 5” x 7” posed photo and in a 1947 Associated Press 7” x 9” wire photo in a game against Manhattan. The larger photo captures Cousy putting up a short that contributed two points to the Crusaders’ victory. It shows a moderate number of fine stress creases throughout in the emulsion. The other photo is ex-m.

Lot 279. Jerry Lucas Signed Cap from Mario Lemieux’s Charity Golf Event. Lucas had a Hall of Fame basketball career at forward and center with the Cincinnati Royals, San Francisco Warriors and New York Knicks from 1963-74. He was the NBA’s Rookie of the Year in 1964. His autograph is a bold 10 in black on a red cap from the fifth anniversary edition of the Mellon Mario Lemieux Celebrity Invitational. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 280. John Wooden Signed UCLA Card Authenticated by PSA/DNA and Kevin Keating. This 4” x 6” color card from UCLA shows Wooden giving instructions to his Bruins during a game. The autograph has been certified and the card slabbed by PSA/DNA. The signature is mint 9. Wooden was the first individual enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame as both a player and a coach. As a player, he had a Hall of Fame career at Purdue. He also was a successful pro. The first three-time consensus All-American, he entered the Hall of Fame as a player in 1961. By then, he had coached high school and then college basketball at Indiana State and UCLA. From 1964-75, his UCLA teams captured 10 national championships. For his success as a coach, he was enshrined again in the Basketball HoF in 1972. Wooden passed away in 2010. Authenticated also by Kevin Keating.
