Lot 323.  2 Baseball Games – 1940s-50s “Electric Baseball” and 1953 “Line Drives.” The Jim Prentice “Electric Baseball” game has seen good use and no longer works. The board is vg, as is the top of the lid. The side panels are missing. The “Line Drives” game, from Lord & Freberg, has a vg-ex board and approximately 140 game cards. The box is complete, with creases on the lid and tears in the side panels.

Lot 324.  1978 American League Baseball Season Pass Issued to “Lefty Gomez and Party.” The pass has a “Baseball Hall of Fame” designation in the lower left corner. Gomez entered the Hall of Fame in 1972 based on his success as a pitcher over 14 major league seasons, 13 with the New York Yankees. He died in 1989. The pass shows a quarter-sized area of paper loss on the back, which has rules for using the pass. The front, which has a MacPhail facsimile signature, is f-g.

Lot 325.  Baseball Grab Bag – Pins, Publications – and an “SI” with Ali on the Cover. This group includes a set of five commemorative pins from the 1997 All-Star Game played in Cleveland. Mint in the original box, the pins represent All-Star Games in the city in 1935, 1954, 1963 and 1981, as well as 1997. From an earlier time, there is a 1959 “Dope Book” from “The Sporting News” with Bob Turley on the cover. Vg. Finally, there are three full issues of “Sports Illustrated”: July 12, 1965, Maury Wills cover, vg-ex, no label; July 30, 1973, Carlton Fisk cover, ex; and April 25, 1988, Muhammad Ali cover, g+ to vg.

Lot 344.  Pittsburgh Circa 1910 Baseball Pin. “Pittsburgh 1” is displayed inside a metal banner at the top of this pin, which has a 2” red, white and blue ribbon suspended from it. In turn, a 1” metal bat hangs from the ribbon. Ex. The pin apparently is associated with a city baseball program. Attractive and uncommon.

Lot 351.  Pittsburgh Pirates 1960 World Series Gold and Black Glass Ashtray in the Original Box. This nm-m 4.75” x 6.6” ashtray proclaims “Bucs Beat Yanks” and provides the results of each World Series game, along with the winning pitcher. The team’s roster is also presented. The glass is actually a translucent smoke color but has a black appearance. The box shows some light foxing and otherwise is ex-m. First time we’ve seen the ashtray with the box.

Lot 352.  Pittsburgh Pirates 1960 World Champions 7.75” Red and Gold on White Ashtray. This design, which features the Pirates mascot with crossed bats, is relatively uncommon. Ex-m.

Lot 353.  Bill Mazeroski Store Model MacGregor Baseball Glove. Vg to vg+ example, model GF256 Field Master, Pro-Style, with generally strong stampings, except for Maz’s facsimile signature, which is light be readable. The cloth patch is present, as is the owner’s name, which has been added to the thumb in sharpie.

Lot 355.  Roberto Clemente Record Album, Publication and Program with His Images. The “Roberto Clemente Memorial Album Authorized by the Pittsburgh Pirates” remains sealed in a jacket that shows several heavy creases at the corners. The 33 1/3 rpm record from Triple-B Record Company features narration by Bob Prince and comments by various Pirates, including Bill Mazeroski and Willie Stargell. A 20-page 1973 magazine-format publication, “Pittsburgh Baseball and Me!” pays tribute to Clemente with photos, newspaper articles and a list of career highlights. Vg-ex. Clemente is pictured on the cover a 1972 Pirates program for an August series with Los Angeles. The program offers profiles of Clemente and various other Pirates. Vg-ex.
