Lot 144. Harmon Killebrew (HoF) Autographed Baseball Bat. The Hall of Fame slugger placed a mint 9 signature on the barrel of the bat and added “573 HR’s,” the number that places him 11th on the all-time Major League home run list. He was among the top six in the pre-steroid era. A 13-time All-Star, Killebrew was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1984. He passed away in 2011. His autograph is on a 31” Killebrew model 1960s Hillerich & Bradsby Little League bat, which shows substantial use. Killebrew’s stamped-on name is light but readable. Lot 146. Eddie Mathews Autographed 7” x 9” Original UPI 1957 World Series Photo. Mathews is congratulated by his teammates after his 10th-inning two-run home run won Game 4 of the 1957 World Series for the Milwaukee Braves. His signature in the upper left corner is nm-m 8. The photo is vg-ex. A member of the 500 home run club, Mathews entered the Hall of Fame in 1978. He died in 2001. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.

Lot 147. Buck O’Neil, Negro Leagues Star, Autographed Bat. Gem mint 10 autograph on a 34” nm-m Young Bat Co. “Buck O’Neill (sic)” model. O’Neil played first base for the Kansas City Monarchs and later managed the team. He was the first African-American coach in the majors. His efforts were important in establishing the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, MO. He passed away in 2006. Rookie of the Year and Cy Young Award recipient, Valenzuela was a six-time All-Star who pitched a no-hitter in 1990.
