Lot 120.  1949 Brooklyn at Pittsburgh Pirates Scorecard and 2 1972 Scorebooks. Printed on one side, the 9” x 11.5” scorecard is neatly scored in pencil for a 15-3 Dodgers victory on June 26. Rookie Don Newcombe pitched a complete game and improved his record to 5-1. Ralph Kiner, Rip Sewell, Pee Wee Reese, Jackie Robinson, Gil Hodges, Roy Campanella and Duke Snider played. The scorecard has one heavy crease and several lighter creases. The 1972 programs are scored for Pirates games with the Cubs and Reds. One scorecard is stained; otherwise, the programs are ex.
Winning Bid $152.

Lot 121.  ONL Giles Baseball Signed by Spahn, Mazeroski, Murtaugh, Burgess and Haddix. Pirates manager Danny Murtaugh autographed the sweet spot. Harvey Haddix signed the north panel; Warren Spahn and another player, the south; and Smoky Burgess and Bill Mazeroski, the east. The ball shows leather loss on three panels; “Official National League” and the Giles facsimile signature are light but readable. The Murtaugh signature is ex to ex-m; the bottom of the “g” is slightly affected by the ball’s condition. Haddix’s autograph is ex to ex-m; Burgess and Maz’, vg-ex to ex; and Spahn’s, vg to vg-ex and significantly affected by the damage to the ball. Authenticated by Kevin Keating.
Winning Bid $40.

Lot 122.  1960 Pittsburgh Pirates World Series Program. Nice ex example. The front cover has two stress creases along the spine and a light crease near the right edge. The back cover has a tiny scuff, a 1/16” edge tear and a couple of light creases. Both covers have a couple of stray spots of red ink. The interior is nm.
Winning Bid $40.

Lot 123.  Pittsburgh Pirates Publications: 5 “On Deck” Magazines and 8 “First Pitch” Programs. The magazines are for April, July and August 2001 and May and June 2003. Nm to nm-m. The eight programs, all different, are from 2010 – Issues 1-3, 6 and 8-11. Andrew McCutchen is the cover subject for Issue 8, for games from July 16-25 vs. the Astros, Brewers and Padres. The first three programs are without scorecards; otherwise, they average nm to nm-m. There also is a ticket for a May 6, 2010 game vs. the Cubs; McCutcheon is pictured.
