Lot 103.  Jackie Robinson and Floyd Patterson Civil Rights-Related 1963 Original UPI Wire Photo. The 7.75” x 10” b&w photo captures the Hall of Fame stars boarding a plane in Newark for a flight to Birmingham to “lend moral encouragement” to civil rights demonstrations there. Robinson, of course, broke baseball’s color barrier. At 21 in 1956, Patterson became the youngest heavyweight boxing champion. Winning Bid $25.
