Lot 25.  Late 19th Century Multicolored Baseball Trade Card. In this attractive card, which has “B 359” in the upper left corner, a nicely dressed boy is about to hit a small ball. Card #210 in Frank Keetz’ “Baseball Advertising Trade Cards,” it promotes Active Andes ranges on the back. One of the larger trade cards, it measures 4 3/16” x 6 ½”. It is also among the more difficult to find. Vg, looks better.

Lot 26.  Late 19th Century Baseball Trade Card by Buffords. Picturing what appears to be a girl dressed in a fancy outfit and holding a bat, this multi-colored card measures 4 11/32” x 6 19/32”. Card #212 in Frank Keetz’ “Baseball Advertising Trade Cards,” it has “626” in the lower right corner. Vg.

Lot 27.  5 1880s Trade Cards – Red Border and Bluish-Green Series, Merchant’s Gargling Oil. The H804-15A representative is “An Anxious Moment.” These cards have a red border and a period after the number “9.” This example has a vg appearance while grading f with a small hole in the lower left. The back promotes the Boston Clothing Co. The Bluish-Green H804-17 card, “A Home Run,” is g-vg. It has “313” in the lower right corner and promotes an Ohio stove company on the back. The H804-7C cards are “A close Affair. Hugging the Bat.”; “Bravo! The Pet of the Nine.”; and “The Hero of a Home Run, the Ladies Favorite.” The figures in these cards, set against a tan background, have red belts, socks and hats and white uniforms. Gies & Co. of Buffalo is the lithographer. They grade vg-ex.

Lot 28.  1909 “Sporting News” Supplement of Hall of Fame Second Baseman Eddie Collins. Dated Oct. 18, this attractive supplement has a vg appearance except for a small scuff at the top. Technically, it grades f.

Lot 29.  1929-30 R315 Lefty Grove (HoF). G. The card looks better than the grade indicates. Winner of 300 games, Grove may have been baseball’s greatest left-handed pitcher.

Lot 31.  1941 Play Ball #72 Lefty Gomez (HoF). The card has a couple of small, stray ink marks. Otherwise, its appearance is vg-ex.

Lot 32.  9 Baseball Exhibits – 7 1939-46 Salutations, 1 1947-66 and 1 1953 Canadian. Includes four Hall of Fame members. HoF manager Walter Alston, #61, is the subject of the Canadian exhibit, ex-m, and HoF shortstop Luke Appling (with “An Exhibit Card”), the 1947-66 exhibit, f. The salutation cards are Clift vg-ex, Gehringer (HoF; two pin holes; otherwise) g, Grove (HoF; two pin holes; otherwise) vg, Bob Johnson vg-ex, Kuhel vg-ex, Lee vg-ex and Pollet vg-ex (“Made in USA” in left corner).

Lot 33.  18 Exhibits – 1947-66 and 1962 and 1963 Statistic Backs. Eleven cards show Dodgers. Cards from the 1947-66 Exhibit Supply Co. issue are Banks (portrait) vg-ex, Banks (bat on shoulder, plain signature) ex+, Branca vg-ex, Hodges (“B” on cap) g-vg, Hodges (“LA” on cap) vg, Newcombe (shaking hands) vg-ex, Newcombe (plain jersey) ex+, Newcombe (Dodgers jersey) vg-ex, Reese (ball showing) g-vg, Reese (ball not visible) p, Roe vg-ex and Vernon (batting) g. The 1962 Stat Back is of Hoak vg-ex. The 1963 Stat Back cards are Aparicio vg-ex, Drysdale vg-ex, Gentile vg-ex, Kaline vg+ to ex and Moon ex.

Lot 34.  Brooklyn Dodgers Collection of TCMA Sets, Picture Pack Photos and Other Cards. Excellent collection that includes 54 TCMA cards, 16 1940s team-issued picture pack photos and more. Two of the TCMA issues are sets: 1973 set of 32 1941 Dodgers ex to ex-m overall and 1980 set of 12 All Time Dodgers nm-m. A package in which the 1980 set was issued is included. Ten other cards are from five TCMA sets: 1975 All Time Brooklyn-LA Dodgers (7 including Koufax and Hodges) ex overall, 1977-84 Galasso (Hodges) ex-m, 1979 Baseball History Series: The Fifties (Dodgers team “Bonus” card) vg and 1978 1941 Dodgers (3” x 5” with Reese, Reiser) vg+ to ex. The picture pack photos are from: 1942, partial set of 11 including Durocher p (writing on back), Medwick vg-ex, Reese (laminated; “Harold Henry Reese” written on the back, otherwise) g and Reiser ex. 1947, 3, Bragan vg, Stanky p-f and Miksis (autographed) vg. And 1949, 3, Branca (signed) p, Newcombe p and Roe p. Also: Historic Limited Editions color 8 x 10s from Rini artwork of Campanella, Chuck Connors, Drysdale, Hermanski, Lasorda and Newcombe. Vg+ to ex overall. 1963-73 Equitable Sports HoF Reese (2), one vg-ex the other vg. Induction day 8 x 10s of Durocher ex, Koufax g-vg and Snider vg. An 8” x 10” photo of Koufax from artwork that shows him with Brooklyn and LA (ink added to Brooklyn cap otherwise) g-vg. And four postcards, two ex, one vg-ex and one vg.

Lot 35.  72 Baseball Stadium Postcards. The collection includes three linens of “Yankee Stadium, New York City,” #128 by the Acacia Card Co. One is vg-ex, one vg and one f-g. The others are chromes ranging from the standard postcard size to 6” x 9”. The average ex-m, and duplicates are included. The ball parks include Dodger Stadium, Memorial Stadium in Baltimore, Municipal Stadium in Cleveland, Ebbets Field, Riverfront Stadium, Shea Stadium, Doubleday Field at Cooperstown, Candlestick Park, Tiger Stadium, Safeco Field, Pacific Bell Park, Fenway Park, Wrigley Field, Camden Yards, White Sox Park, the Astrodome, Yankee Stadium, D.C. Stadium and others. Also, a booklet with “Six Old-Time Baseball Parks” postcards.

Lot 36.  4 Bowman Cards: 1950 #167 Roe, 1951 #150 Garcia and 245 Berardino, 1952 #17 Lopat. Nice little group with Roe grading vg-ex, Garcia ex-m+, Berardino vg+ to ex and Lopat vg-ex.

Lot 37.  2 1951 Topps Red Back Wax Wrappers. These wrappers generally show standard use. One has three tiny edge or corner chips, and the other has “35” written in pencil in one border.
