 Lot 307. Incredible 1932 Olympics Collection – “Official Report,” Programs and Tickets. The centerpiece of this collection is the “Xth Olympiad Los Angeles 1932 Official Report.” This 816-page hardbound volume provides detailed information on each Olympics event. It is extensively illustrated with photos of the participants. A number of photo plates seem suitable for framing. Among the successful competitors for the U.S. were Babe Didrikson and Eddie Tolan. The book has leather covers with gilt lettering. The covering for the spine is detached but present. The binding remains relatively tight, and the inside pages are nm. A second hardbound volume contains what appears to be a complete set of programs for the Olympiad. There are at least 28 programs, from July 30, 1932, through Aug. 14. The last several pages of the volume show some water stains; otherwise, it is ex+ with programs that generally are ex-m or better. Finally, there are seven wire stories, two Olympic Stadium Passes, including one that still has the stub attached, and more than 40 tickets or stubs for track and field and equestrian events, fencing, swimming, rowing and boxing. This collection represents a real treasure trove. The version of the “Official Report” with leather boards is extremely rare.
